hackers reportedly compromise pga of america files - digital signage
ST. LOUIS—
Golfweek reports that the us pga is trying to regain control of computer servers that prevent officials from accessing files from the PGA Championship.
The magazine said on its website that PGA staff found that their system was broken when trying to access the file, which generated a message that the network had been hacked, any files that break to be lost.
The PGA declined to comment, saying it was an ongoing investigation.
Golfweek reports that the documents include promotional banners and logos used in digital and printed communications, as well as digital signage around the Bellerive Country Club.
The message includes a Bitcoin wallet number, but does not say what is needed to restore control over the file, the magazine said.
