When it was launched in 2017, Honor Band 3 offered a new design, heart
Rate monitoring and sleep tracking at affordable prices.
While this looks good on paper, we found some issues in the comments.
Honor returned to the draw board and has now come up with a successor, Honor Band 4. Priced at Rs.
2,599, is this a fitness band for you or should you pick up the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 to read our review to get to know. . embed-container {

At first glance, the Honor Band 4 looks similar to the device it replaced.
It's stylish and bright, so it won't feel embarrassed if you wear it all the time.
Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 has a removable core (capsule)
Honor Band 4 is a band.
The capsule is not separate from the band, so you are not free to use different bands here.
Our review unit has a blue band but you have the option to purchase this device in pink or black.
That said, your band on Honor Band 4 is of very good quality and there is no sign of wear during our review.
We didn't like the buckle design for Honor Band 3 because it left a small mark on our forearm.
Honor changed this with a new model and you will get a watch style buckle.
This is easy to turn on and off and is less likely to turn off than earlier models.
There is a 0 at the heart of Honor Band 4. 95-
Inch AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 240x120 pixels.
It also has a capacitor back button.
Considering that most of the other bands at this price point offer black, Honor has launched a prominent color displayand-white screens.
Another advantage of this display is its easy sunshine . .
It is bright enough to be seen outdoors and users can choose three brightness levels from the band.
The Honor Band 4 is stylish and bright and is one of several manufacturers that offer touch screens at this price point.
The screen is responsive and we can easily browse the options.
The capacitor button acts as the back button when scrolling the UI.
Flip the band and you will see the heart rate sensor and two pogo pins for bottom charging.
The heart rate sensor is slightly higher than the rest of the body, and if you put the strap on tightly, it will leave a mark on your hand.
Like Honor Band 3, this new model also uses a proprietary clipon charger.
It is very small with pogo pin connectors and micro connectors for charging
USB port for input.
The charger is easy to lose, but you can find the replacement charger online.
Honor Band 4 works with Android phones and iPhones through Huawei's health app.
The process of pairing the band with the phone is easy and the app is well designed.
At a glance, the app will give you information about the number of steps taken, the heart rate you recorded last time, and how well you slept the night before.
We found that when paired with an Android phone, the Huawei health app keeps giving notifications --
Like other apps.
So it won't be killed in the background.
This ensures that the band is constantly connected to the phone to synchronize the data.
In theory, this will have an impact on the battery life of the connected smartphone, but this is not important enough for us to notice.
In the app, you will find a record of the number of steps you have taken.
This day can be sorted outby-day or month-by-
Give you a month to learn about your progress.
The app can also be used to customize what features are on the band and the order in which they appear.
In addition, the app allows you to share data with Google Fit, MyFitnessPal, and Jawbone.
Honor Band 4 was able to keep track of heart rate continuously, and in our tests the track of Honor Band 4 was a bit inaccurate.
We manually counted 1,000 steps as we walked around, and the band recorded 985 steps.
If you plan on using a fitness bracelet to track the steps then this is not as accurate as Xiaomi Mi band 3.
The health smartphone app also has a separate step count counter that keeps ticking in the notification panel of the phone and measures with the accelerometer on the phone.
We find this to be inaccurate, too.
As we drive around, the number of steps is increasing.
Heart rate tracking is more accurate, and when we compare both at the same time, results similar to Mi Band 3 are given.
Continuous heart rate tracking is available on Honor Band 4, which can record your heart rate in 2 days
Minutes apart.
Once synced with your phone, you can see your heart rate range and resting heart rate.
It also has a heart rate rise alert that warns you if your resting heart rate exceeds the set limit, more than 10 minutes at a time.
The Honor Band 4 allows you to track outdoor and indoor runs, outdoor walks, indoor bikes, swimming pools, and free training.
We used the outdoor walking tracking mode and we knew the walking distance was only 1 km.
The band measurement distance is 0.
96 km, this is an acceptable deviation.
The Honor Band 4 does not have a dedicated GPS chip and it relies on the connected smartphone to determine where it is located.
We also used the free training mode while working out in the gym.
It keeps track of the heart rate, but cannot get the correct reading most of the time.
It is not accurate when it successfully reads.
The Huawei health app provides you with accurate and detailed analysis of sleep tracking, and the band can detect the time we fall asleep and the time we wake up.
It can use Huawei's trus sleep tracking algorithm to break down our sleep into deep sleep, light sleep, fast eye movement sleep, and waking periods.
It also analyzes our sleep quality and gives us advice and tips on how to improve our sleep quality.
You can set the alarm clock on Honor Band 4, which can vibrate and wake you up at the set time.
We had to use the smartphone app to set the alarm, which is possible in the band itself.
The honor claims that the battery on the band 4 will last for six days, with a single charge that is sustainable heart rate tracking and 17 days of normal use.
In our use, the band lasted only three and a half days, including call and notification reminders, continuous heart rate tracking, and Huawei's trus Lipp sleep tracking.
After turning off the continuous heart rate option, the band consumed only 40% of the battery in six days.
The band charged quickly and we were able to charge it to 70% in an hour by connecting it to a USB charger.
Honor Band 4 also has NFC support, we found support for Alipay in the band's user interface, but this is useless in India.
NFC is not used for anything else.
Verdict Honor Band 4 has better display, better heart rate and sleep tracking, and better distance accuracy compared to its predecessor.
All of this, however, comes at a lower battery life cost.
Xiaomi Mi Band 3, the closest competitor to Xiaomi Mi Band 3, offers accurate step-by-step tracking at a slightly lower price.
Mi Band 3 is versatile and accurate, and you can save a little money without losing too many features.
However, Honor Band 4 should be your first choice if you want better display and sleep tracking to be a priority.
