The building bell attracted the attention of the school.
Instead of being praised for his ingenuity, Muslim Ahmed was handcuffed and interrogated by the police after assuming that the clock might have been an explosion.
Police dropped the charges against Ahmed, but he was still suspended from MacArthur High School in Texas until Thursday.

Suspension day-
Ahmed held a media conference near Irving's home in Dallas County to address his growing fans and supporters.
An optimistic Ahmed, surrounded by his jubilant family, revealed that he would accept an invitation to visit the White House and was considering a transfer to another school.
It is reported that MacArthur had contacted Grade 9 students since he was suspended from class, but he said he "didn't see the point" of meeting with the school authorities.
Ahmed, careful not to comment on the legal aspects of the case, explained that he had brought the clock into school to impress the teacher, but another teacher "thought it was a threat to her"

But he is still positive.
"Thanks to all my supporters on Twitter, Facebook and all social media," he continued . ".
"Thank you for helping me.
If it weren't for you, not just you: I wouldn't have gone so far, all of you.
When the crowd cheered, "We support you, Ahmed ! "
The gracious young man said he was "certainly happy" that the charges against him had been dropped, but added that he was not troubled by the lack of an apology from the school or the police.
"All I know (with)
"All my supporters have apologized," he said . ".
I hope they have more to say tomorrow, but Ahmed's sister asked me to share this photo. A NASA shirt! pic. twitter.
"I have met Mark Zuckerberg, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama (talk about me)
I am happy that they are part of the action, part of the movement, to get rid of everything that has happened, not just to me, but to the rest of the world.
"It feels really great.
I never thought I would go so far, but since I have gone so far, I will do my best not only to help me, but also to help every child in the world who has such problems.
Ahmed also made some wise suggestions to other young inventors: "Do It ".
"Don't let someone change who you are, even if you pay for it," he said . ".
"You need to show them your talent.
"It makes me feel like a criminal is assembling what he's doing 20 minutes before going to bed on Sunday --
The infamous clock that uses circuit boards, power supplies connected to digital displays, and other items in his bedroom.
He then took the device to school on Monday to show off to his engineering teacher.
"He said, 'This is really good.
"I suggest you not show this to other teachers," Ahmed told The Dallas Morning Post . ".
But when the clock starts to beep in another class, the trouble starts.
The teacher accused him of bringing what seemed to be a bomb to school and informed the principal who called the police.
Ahmed was arrested by police and asked in detail why he was taking a "prank bomb" to school.
"It makes me feel like I'm not a human being.
"It made me feel like I was a criminal," Ahmed said after his release . ".
His family is talking to a lawyer.
On Wednesday, Police Chief Larry Boyd said Ahmed would not be accused of owning a scam bomb because there was no evidence that he intended to cause panic at school.
While the clock looks "suspicious in nature," Boyd said, he believes the case is over.
"We live in an era where you can't bring something like this to school," he said . ".
Asked if Ahmed's religious background would be a factor in his arrest, Boyd said the response was "the same" in any case ".
Owen Police Chief Larry Boyd issued a statement on Ahmed's arrest.

But the arrest sparked anger and many commentators described the school's knee --
The jerk reaction to Ahmed's device is racial profiling, which is the worst.
Committee of the United States-
Islamic relations say they are investigating the incident, which is said to be typical of Owen's negative attitude towards Muslims. Washington-
Yousef Munayer, a Texas-based political analyst, wrote on Twitter: "This happened in Texas, but there is nothing wrong with it.
In the United States, Muslim stereotypes can happen anywhere.
Freada Kapor Klein, founder of the fair competitive environment Institute, which advocates an inclusive working environment, said the high school response is a "shameful example of bias" that minority students may face ".
"Young people like Ahmed are the emerging engineers our school needs to encourage rather than conviction," she told the Los Angeles Times . ".
Smartwatch maker Pebble sent an ironic tweet to the Irwin police station asking if it would also be arrested for making a digital clock.
"Get more minorities and girls interested in STEM (
Science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
"Oil fields will bring huge benefits to the tech industry," said Joseph Kristoffer, community director at Pebble . ".
The White House press secretary said Ahmed, who was thought the clock might have been a "failure" to the teacher of the bomb, described the incident as "a teachable moment ".
MacArthur High School director Dan camings's letter to his parents was further criticized for "victim's accusation.
Cumming's letter reassured parents that the school had succeeded in protecting students from harm.
"I would suggest using this opportunity to talk to your child about the code of conduct for students, especially not to bring prohibited items to school," he wrote . ".
"Also, this is a good time to remind your child to immediately report to any school staff how important any suspicious items and/or suspicious behavior they observe, so that we can solve the problem right away.
In order to protect our students, we will always take the necessary precautions.
It is understood that the police chief will hold a public meeting with the Muslim community at the local mosque this week.
