\'looks like a bomb\': muslim teen ahmed arrested for bringing homemade clock to school - digital display board

Ninth grade student Ahmed Mohammed from Irving, Texas, is eager to impress the teacher with his latest work-this is the clock he invented in 20 minutes, consists of a circuit board and a power supply connected to a digital display.
The clock and its wires are tied to a box.
But when he showed the clock to his engineering teacher, he did not receive the reply he hoped to get.
Ahmed was quoted as saying in the Dallas Morning Post: "he said, 'This is really good. '.
"I suggest you not to show it to other teachers.

But when the alarm clock rang in English class, the teacher complained. When the 14-year-
She showed the teacher the source of the beeps, saying: "It looks like a bomb.
Ahmed responded that it did not look like a bomb to him.
Later, when Ahmed was in class six, the principal and a police officer pulled him out.
He was taken to a room where four other police officers were waiting.
According to Ahmed, one of the police officers said: "Yes.
I thought it was.
"He was then interrogated by the police and, if he did not make a written statement, the principal threatened to expel him.
"They said, 'so you're trying to make a bomb,'" Ahmed said '. ".
"I told them no, I just wanted to make a clock.
"He said, 'It seems to me like a movie bomb.
The ninth grade student was then taken to a juvenile detention center where he was fingerprinted and mugshots were filmed.
However, he was soon able to meet his parents and spent the night in his cell.
He was suspended from school for three days.
Police initially said Ahmed could face charges of making a "prank bomb", although he never told anyone it was a bomb.
Even police spokesman James McClellan admitted there was no evidence that the ninth grader had pretended the clock was an explosive device.
"We don't know what he claims to be a bomb," McClellan said . ".
"He always thought it was a clock, but there was no broader explanation.
He added, "if left under the bathroom or under the car, it could be reasonably mistaken for a device.

They announced on Wednesday morning that police would not charge the teenager for making a "prank bomb", adding that the case against Ahmed had been closed.
Anyway, he vowed never to bring another invention to school.
