touch board + ableton live - touch board
Live users? Cool!
The TouchPad works well with Live.
The following tutorial shows you how to set up the motherboard and gives a brief introduction to our basic live projects.
For more project ideas, please visit www. bareconductive.
ComTo start you need: 1 x touchpad-
1 x usb a to Micro B cable1 x computer running Ableton Live 9. 0 or later—
1 x internet connection (
But you are reading this so I think you must have one! )
Your TouchPad requires our touch and proximity usb midi interface code to communicate with the field project.
Here is the link to the code.
Make sure to select the "naked conductive touch pad (
Usb midi compatible with iPad)
Under tools/boards.
If you have not set the Arduino IDE to use the TouchPad, make sure to complete our "set Arduino with touchpad" tutorial first (link below).
The touch and proximity usb midi interface encode the Arduino through the touch pad. To download our universal MIDI controller Ableton Live project, click the link below and unzip it to a convenient location
Our project runs on Live 9. 0 or later.
If you haven't installed Live yet, you can find a link below.
Universal MIDI controller Live project table ton Live download ensures the Arduino programming environment is off.
Insert your TouchPad and open the live item.
Navigate to Live/Preferences/MIDI Sync.
You should see the layout touchpad under the "usb midi device" input.
"At the bottom of the dialog box, in the MIDI port section, make sure to open sync and remote.
Exit the live preferences and view the top right corner of the project.
Whenever you touch an electrode on the touchpad, you should see the flashing light.
You may also notice that your project is making noise now!
If so, enter the next section.
* Before you start this step, we recommend unplugging anything connected to the electrodes on your TouchPad-electric paint, crocodile clips, teapot, whatever it is-unplugging!
This is because the TouchPad will produce very sensitive sensors, and even a signal will be generated near them, making
The mapping process is a huge pain.
So unplug/release everything before moving to the section below.
Our universal MIDI controller Arduino code and live project is designed to give you an idea of what can happen when you combine the touchpad with this powerful software, so we keep the simple mapping.
Each electrode of the TouchPad maps to different functions in the project.
You can identify this mapping by clicking the MIDI box in the upper right corner.
You'll notice that some blue boxes have alphanumeric symbols at the top, corresponding to the list on the left.
This is the mapping that defines what the TouchPad electrode is assigned to in Live.
You will notice that there are a range of options available to change the scope and mapping.
If you want to re-
Just click on what you want to map in the live interface to map one of the electrodes (
When selecting the MIDI button in the upper right corner)
Then touch the electrode you want to assign to it.
You should see the alphanumeric code change.
Click the MIDI button in the upper right corner again to complete the mapping process.
Want to know more about live MIDI mapping?
Check out the link below for an awesome tutorial on how this all works.
Want to get more information from this basic project? Cool.
The first step is to look at the Arduino code you uploaded in the first step.
Each electrode has a series of adjustments.
The best start is to adjust "inputMin" and "inputMax ".
"We recommend not to consider other variables at first, because life is more likely to get the information it can use.
Now that you 've got a touchpad attached to Live, you 've got a great platform to make some amazing projects.
Have fun and let us know how you get along!
