What would you say to the two-day Little Turtle, amazing view, mouth --
Avril suggested it would be fun to water the Konkan food and start packing
Ann blaganzat was finally at eleven o'clock P. M. on Friday night. 14th March);
It's time to leave for Velas in the ratnajili area of Maharashtra and check out the baby Olive Reilly turtles.
Our bus stopped at Bandra, Sion, Chembur and Vashi to pick up others for a break and then drove straight to Velas until we arrived at 07:30 in the morning.
We went to the beach even before breakfast, hoping to see the little turtles swimming to the water, but with bad luck.
As we walked to our host family, we saw the children running around in the quaint little brick room, and young people in other cities had breakfast on the balcony of their host family.
After breakfast, we went to the station by bus.
Located at the starting point of Bankot Fort in the mouth of Savitri.
30 minutes walk from there to the Fort (
A smaller bus goes straight to the top).
When a concrete road leads to the fort, our sense of adventure takes over, and we try the "short circuit" we want instead of reaching the top along the winding road.
Our detour gives us a pure understanding of simple rural life-when villagers do daily chores, the girls in the school leave them and the cows rest in the shade.
We got to the top of the mountain and were blown away. . .
Not in the wind, but in the stunning view-the hills dotted with green tones provide graphic relief between the blue sky and the waters of Savitri;
We have Bankot fort behind us.
We walked the path around the fort, climbed up the city wall and found a lot of opportunities to stop and take pictures.
We have plenty of time (
Our organizer travel guru GoGo does not believe in Rush)
We set out to explore the fort.
Small Corners and gaps, remains of the gate
The breeder, a well, "cool hole" and "secret" exit satisfy our curiosity for at least an hour.
Then we got off the bus and stopped to enjoy (raw mango)
Hanging out where we can't reach, if we stare hard enough, they are willing to fall into the palm of our open hands.
Back to the homestay, we had a delicious home-
Rice, roti, chicken curry and fried cooked food (mackerel).
Our belly was full of burst points and we spread on the floor inside and outside the house until five o'clock P. M. Raksha (
One of the organizers)
"BOTU, Craig, Josh, Avril, get up now.
Everyone is waiting for you.
We believe she said this to everyone when she woke up).
We have to see the turtles.
"After a steaming cup of coffee, we walked through the village to the beach.
Gathered around the fence established by the Sahyadri Nisarga Mitre NGO, which works to protect turtles and looks like at least hundreds of people.
Non-governmental organization member Mohan epadhye walked into the fence and lifted the basket to cover the small area where the turtles should hatch. No turtles.
"Maybe tomorrow morning.
"Come here before 7," he told us when we turned down to the beach.
But on the high black sand bar and the sparkling water, the golden glow of the sunset distracted us.
Some people in our group started the extreme frisbee game and others stood on their ankles
Watching the sunset in the deep water, the children ran around to catch crabs, and I was lost in my world with my camera.
It was dark and we went back to the host family.
Post our typical Konkan dinner, rice, curry chicken, chicken and salad, we played a few games and chat before we went to bed.
Our wake-up call is 5. 30 am.
We must be ready on the beach. S. A. P.
"Find a good place", "Will we see some turkey on the last day ? " "Will I get some good clicks before I finish the previous idea ? ".
We waited eagerly for Mohan.
"If there are turtles, we will set up a roadblock around the area where the turtles are released.
No one will cross the obstacle. And no flash.
"The turtles follow the sun and the flash will get them lost," he instructed. There's pin-
When Mohan moves to the basket that covers the hatchery, keep silent.
All eyes were on him. turned basket.
As he lifted the basket, there was a hopeful cry, crossed fingers and camera ready to click.
Four little turtles were in a hurry there.
Suddenly, people began to compete for the coastline.
I got to the front row;
After a while, their entourage took the little beauty to the water.
The paparazzi are ready.
Click, click, click, "Sorry, you blocked my way", click-the madness continues as celebrities go to the water, under the correct guidance of NGO volunteers, tripped over each other.
"These women will return to the beach where they were born to spawn.
So it's important that they take at least a short walk to get to the water.
"The sport helps them remember the beach," Mohan told us . ".
The babies reached the water and the crowd said goodbye to them.
We went to the Mohan House to listen to the recording-
Visual presentation of turtles and more information.
"Once the mother lays the eggs, we move them to a safer place where a fence surrounds the place to prevent the dogs and hyenas from laying the eggs.
We covered the scene with a basket and a yellow sack so that the birds could not reach the eggs, "Mohan inspired us.
"If the mother feels that the beach is not safe or feels that there are too many people around (
They can feel the vibration)
She will go to the nearest beach.
But it is very important for her to lay eggs right away, otherwise she will die. Out of 100-
She has 120 eggs, only one or two of which grow into adulthood.
In addition to predators on land, many people will be eaten by big fish in the sea;
Some people end up eating plastic, while others are stuck in fishing nets.
"When we left Mohan's house, I silently vowed to work harder to protect the environment.
After breakfast (
Dorsa and hot and sour sauce)
We drove to viswe.
Here, we cross the Savitri River by ferry (bus et al)
Go to bagman de la, then drive to calirishwar.
Raksha knows a place where we can see beautiful panoramic views of the beach.
After lunch, we followed her up the steps leading to the beach and the barricades.
We started climbing up again.
The view from the top made us change-
Tiny people try water sports in the vast ocean, while smaller children play on the beach. . .
We were glued to the scene and just walked around to take pictures.
We finally walked back and we were all on the bus back to Mumbai in 45 minutes.
The good weekend is over, but it is always in my memory.
