Digital billboards are a great way to advertise for some Regina residents, and for others, digital billboards are just a nasty bright and annoying thing.

Andrew Stevens wants advice from residents and business owners to help the city of Regina determine which regulations will be introduced in the future.

When studying the brightness of the digital sign, he found that the city was already reviewing the matter.
"I am shocked that the city is reviewing it and they are looking for residents to participate in the process," Stevens said . ".
"From my point of view and some anecdotes on Twitter, people think this is a security issue.
I think this is what the city will reflect in its research.

"The articles of association are out of date and it is time for review.
"The current planning manager of the Development Services Department, Fred Searle, said that the city of Regina is reviewing the zoning rules and regulations with the logo, which is an integral part of it.
"The zoning charter specifies the location of the logo, so we are looking at this," says Selle . ".
"What we are looking at is some of the standards of the future that will pay special attention to video signage in terms of brightness and messaging.
"While there are no specific rules in terms of the brightness of the logo, Searle said that the logo owner has worked with the city on many occasions.
"This is a problem that appears to the residents from time to time, where these situations are brought to our attention, and our approach is to work with the owner of the logo to make adjustments, says Searle.
"Typically, these requests are processed in one case --by-case basis.
"At the moment, there is no timetable for change, but there may be temporary measures by the city.
"We need more time.
"This will involve a terminology perspective for future signing regulations," says Searle . ".
"We will look at interim measures, but there is no time to move forward with regulation at this stage.
"Regina is not the first city to reduce brightness on digital signage.
Digital signage has been banned in Chicago and Salt Lake City for years.

The annual review of digital signage was conducted in 2012 and there are currently some of the strongest regulations in Canada.
