A pilot project is expected to be implemented by August 13, which will video and upload the Brok Township Committee and council meeting to YouTube.
At the regular meeting on MondayMay 14)
The Council supports a plan that will cost $1,620 to install cameras in the Conington parliament chamber.
The plan is to record the meeting, edit it, and post it to YouTube.
Mayor John Grant, who presented the pilot project proposal at the executive and personnel committee meeting on April 23, said it would be a useful tool for the township and a tool that has been circulating for many years.
"This is an evolution," he said . "
Today's technology is better, it provides a way to communicate with the public.
"Of course, technology has changed even in the last four years.
We talked about it at the beginning of the semester and the staff looked around, "he said.
But the cost is considerable.
He didn't say how much it would cost now, but he called the number "nominal" and that's what other cities in the Durham area are doing.
"For the public who are unable to attend council meetings, this will be an opportunity to watch at home.
Transparency . . . . . . This is all about it.
"In a report to the council this week, the staff wrote that they had contacted the municipalities in other regions to obtain information about the video process of the meeting.
They found that Uxbridge's systems and processes are the most cost-effective and time-effective methods they have reviewed.
If the same device is used, Uxbridge also offered to help Brock implement its system.
Once in place, the camera will be installed on the projector screen of the Council, agent table and council chamber.
Cao Thom Gettinby said the videos will be edited by the staff and then posted to YouTube as soon as possible, indicating an estimated working day.
Unless the Council enters a closed meeting, the editor will not delete any part of the meeting.
Gettinby says it's just a time stamp and an edit break.
Only meetings held in the council chamber will be recorded.
The equipment is not portable.
Brock's staff advised them to use the same vendor Prime audio video company– as Uxbridge.
Block-make council Sole proprietorship
When an existing device is a "most important consideration and the purchase of a product is used for testing or trial use, the source of purchase is purchased.
Prime Audio Video
"It has proved itself in the town of Uxbridge," the report said . ".
"In addition, Prime audio video will be able to set up the system in a timely manner.
"By selecting August 13 as the start date, the staff said it would have enough time to set up and test the system before rolling it out to the public.

Why Digital Podiums Are Becoming Essential for Smart Classrooms and Hybrid Learning Environments in 2026

Education has undergone a significant transformation over the last decade. Traditional teaching methods that relied solely on blackboards, projectors, and paper materials are rapidly being replaced by interactive, technology-driven learning environments.

Schools, universities, training centers, and educational institutions worldwide are investing in smart classroom solutions that improve engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomes. Among these innovations, the Digital Podium has emerged as one of the most important pieces of classroom technology.

A Digital Podium is no longer simply a lectern for holding notes. It has evolved into a powerful teaching workstation that integrates computing, touch interaction, multimedia control, device management, and classroom collaboration into a single platform.

As hybrid learning, distance education, and smart campus initiatives continue to expand, digital podiums are becoming an essential component of modern educational infrastructure.
