Paul Gray, an analyst at IHS Technology, explained that the LED screen is difficult to manufacture because the LED needs to be placed on a single layer by the machine.
"You have millions of dollars on one monitor," he said . "
"But Samsung may have made some breakthroughs in multiple positions [at once].
While Samsung has introduced the technology as a "consumer" product, it is likely to only appear on very expensive devices, Gray added.
Samsung has yet to disclose pricing details.
Other giant TV displays were also shown at CES this year.
Hisense has launched an in 4 k TV projector system that projects pictures onto the owner's wall.
The company did not announce the price of the product, although the price of the 100in version was $10,000 (£7,300).
