The City of Edmonton hopes to get public feedback before the Council considers zoning reform, which will allow digital signage to play ads on Stantec Tower.
Stantec and Ice districts have submitted a proposal for the city to allow three
Floor signs on both sides of Highway 69storey tower.
The signs are 230 above the city center street.
According to the city's current regulations, the logo usually cannot exceed 8 metres high.
Zoning regulations in the downtown arena entertainment area must be changed to allow for signs on new towers.
"The proposed lighting/signage will help create excitement in the entertainment district with the ability to create venues and architectural animations for special events such as Canada Day, pride, New Year's Eve;
Celebrate our local sports teams, such as the oil workers;
Or help provide the right color, lighting and atmosphere for the ice area, especially in our long, dark winter . "
On Twitter, some writers are considered to use these logos to present the idea of advertising. Awful.

Lighting our building and allowing clever design of digital signage can be a good feature.
May not be able to sell ads, but just promote campaigns and events in the core or ice area?
"Signage and digital signage often have a polarized effect," says Travis Polick, a senior planner in Edmonton . ".
"I think that when you put it on the top of the tallest tower in Edmonton, it will have a considerable impact on the city's image.
Whether it is positive or negative, we will understand it through participation and the final decision of the Council.
"The proposed changes and new technologies may lead the city to revisit the general rules of its digital signage," said Pawlyk.
"The last time this happened, the technology of LED signage was not entirely there," he said . ".
"There needs to be a re
See how to incorporate these into the urban landscape.
"Members of the public who wish to provide feedback are invited to an event --
At the five o'clock P. M. meeting on Thursday. m. to 7 p. m.
In the lobby of the tower, 20 road 10.
The council will eventually have to decide whether to change the zoning to allow these signs.
A public hearing date has not yet been set.
