A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
I had a Pro-
I get cheap Lite monitors in my store without any communication cables or any software.
At least I have the remote but it is slow and I never thought I would use it like this.
It's time for me to start making cables and working on the protocol, so I thought I 'd share my findings here.
My goal is to be able to update the symbol from processing so that it can be used interactively in some way.
This is a two-step process, first I need a cable and second I need protocol.
Research the internet, I can find (as we all are)
All the information I need, and now I'm going to share it in one of the places here, this is our first and favorite how-to' stop.
Identify your phone line first, you need to identify if your phone line is straight or not
Pass or cross.
Mine is straight. through.
You can do this by holding the cable end-to-end, from the tip to the tip, and seeing if the colors are aligned.
You take the crossover cable if they line up, otherwise it's straightthrough.
You can make the cable in any way, if you use the crossover cable, just reverse the connection with my cable.
The communication line is constructed to cut off one end of the telephone extension, expose enough wires for work, and peel off the four ends. Crimp-
Connect the pins that come with the DB9 connector to each exposed wire.
If you're using straight
Connect the green wire to pin 3 of db9 through the cable.
The red line will go to pin 2 and the black line will go to pin 5.
If you are using a cross
Connect Green to pin 2 through the cable, red to pin 3, yellow to pin 5.
If you are not sure, a small tip about the structure is to connect the PIN directly to the male port (
On your computer or extension)
Test until you are satisfied with your rights.
The wrong way to connect should not damage anything, but snap them into the female connector and it will be more difficult to replace if you have pinsout wrong.
I will keep it simple here and show you a basic example I made using processing.
It will help to illustrate the general purpose of the agreement and I will leave you with an interesting implementation.
First explain what the sketch will do.
It displays two colored squares to the user, and when the user clicks on a square, the flag is updated to reflect the color of the square.
It stays in this state until a different color is clicked on the screen.
Here's an exciting video with a text version of the sketch that you need to copy and paste into a new sketch in your processing environment.
The code is commented on again so I won't bother you with the extra walk timethrough here.
This is really very direct.
Once you start working, you can easily adjust your new knowledge, make a more interesting sketch, show your local weather, or train schedule. Share and Enjoy.
