A business owner at Corner Brook said he had been asking the city for permission to place upa digital billboards for years, but was frustrated by the lack of response.
Ray Brake, owner of digital advertising solutions, first applied for double in 2013
A billboard, about 2 metres high and about 3 metres wide, displays ads in one of 35 potential outdoor locations.
"It was positive at first.
They were open to work and tried to see how we could do that and discussed the development of the bylaws, "he told CBC Radio's Corner Brook morning show.
But years later, no decision has been made.
"It's not moving as fast as it should.
"This needs to be resolved," Brake said . ".
OK, as can be seen from the frustration of the Deer Lake gate over the City of Corner Brook, the Deer Lake recently approved a billboard located within its town.
"They are very accommodating," he said . " He noted that his application was approved in less than two months.
"It's clear that they want to do something to help the business community in Deer Lake and the region grow.
"Brake doesn't understand why corner Brook is dragging his heel.
"I think it boils down to openness --minded. " he said.
The consulting work in Brook city is in the process of public consultation on midsta digital signage.
"I want people to weigh on it," Brake said . ".
"I still have hope for what can be done.
"The consultation asks people about concerns about the logo, how big the logo should be and any other considerations, and all inputs will be completed by May 28.
Meanwhile, Brake, who makes money through the ads he sells on these billboards, feels he has missed years of revenue.
"There is no doubt that if not more, tens of thousands of dollars.
