A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
One big trend that people may ignore at CES this year is that there are a lot of new displays and display technologies on the display.
This year's conference brings a lot of new 4 k HDR displays, as well as chips and connections that drive 4 k HDR as the baselevel standard—
It's refreshing because we haven't really seen a lot of new technologies in the display space in the last few years.
I believe that in the next few years we will see 4 k HDR replacing 1080 p as the standard for media consumption.
In addition, I think the growth trend of 2019 and 2020 will be flexible display, more Adaptive Sync technology, more OLED and 8 k.
Let's take a closer look at the announcement from CES 2019.
Samsung Electronics has led the display innovation on CES with its wall 219 modular display, which can be built into almost any aspect ratio.
When asked about the resolution and pricing details, Samsung only said that the "wall" product starts at 75 "and 4 k resolution with a size of up to 219.
While it is not clear how high resolution this display can get, I am not sure if this is important for most consumers;
This technology will be mainly a very high
Ultimate product of Ultra
Wealthy consumers and businesses.
In addition to the walls, Samsung also showed what I think is the most exciting game display at CES --
It updates crg9, the 49 "game display.
The new model is expected to replace last year's CHG90 with an amazing 5120x1440 resolution (
Compared to 3480x1080 of chg90).
This is almost double the pixel (3.
7 million pixels vs 7
3 million pixels).
With the new 49 "monitor, you can actually get the resolution of two 27" 1440 P monitors side by side instead of two 1080 P monitors, which I think is a major upgrade.
In addition to the impressive resolution, the display has the HDR 1000 feature, which means it meets the highest standard of HDR brightness for displays a in the display.
It is also equipped with AMD's Radeon freessync 2 technology, which means it supports VESA Adaptive Sync technology and can change the frame rate to eliminate tearing and improve the gaming experience.
Last but not least, Samsung's space display.
The Space Monitor comes in two sizes, 27 and 32, designed to save space on your desk by flush with the walls.
Compared to traditional displays, this design has the smallest footprint and helps to reduce many desks.
I believe it will be in the cubicle, in the small office space and in the co-
The desk space is in the working area of the prime location.
It's not so much a display innovation as a mechanical engineering innovation, but the idea of a display that barely takes up desktop space is fantastic.
I hope others will copy it.
LGLG's big announcement was the launch of a series of rolling OLED TVs that went to their bottom and extended up to the display mode.
These products have caused a lot of buzz because they show the flexibility of OLED displays in previously impossible sizes.
The company also took out a 88-K display for two months-
OLED and 75inch LCD—
Prove LG's ability
While competitors are catching up, format OLED continues to grow.
LG also added support for HDMI 2.
Therefore, its TV can finally display the content at 4 K 120Hz.
Dell's display technology surprised many people.
Although this should not be a surprise given that the company is the world's largest monitor manufacturer.
Dell has once again established its leadership with its new 55-inch Alienware OLED gaming display and its 120Hz adaptive sync capabilities.
The Company also presents a curved 49 "display designed for office and productivity applications that can display two computers at the same time with a keyboard and mouse, via a built-inin KVM switch.
Except these two big-
Dell also announced that more laptops will adopt OLED options this year.
This is a welcome development.
I have an Alienware 13 "laptop with OLED Display options that greatly improves the gaming and video viewing experience.
HP's big announcement is that it finally brought (
Working with NVIDIA)
Its 65-inch large format game display screen (BFGD)
After the show at CES last year, Omen X Experium 65 went public.
This display is important because it has a refresh rate of 144Hz, HDR and 4 k, all in the 65 "display.
It also uses NVIDIA GSync technology for adaptive refresh for a smoother gaming experience.
There is no doubt that the price of this product is $5,000.
Still, it is still a very nice game display and can also be used as a TV to play 4 k HDR content.
In addition to the availability of BFGD, NVIDIA's biggest announcement is that the company decided to open G-
Standard to non-synchronous
NVIDIA hardware display.
This means that NVIDIA will launch a new G-Sync-
Ready display, tested to meet the most important G-Synchronize parameters.
If the monitor meets these specifications then it will be considered G-Sync-ready.
Many media and the industry have misunderstood that NVIDIA is completely open to G-
Sync, which means that all freessync monitors can perform G-suddenly-Sync—
But it's far from here.
NVIDIA pioneered G-Sync called “G-
This means that it has NVIDIA hardware on both ends and supports full G-Sync spec.
NVIDIA announced G-Sync HDR, G-Sync, and G-
Synchronize HDR display.
Lenovo announced at CES 2019 that it will launch 27G-
Syncing a compatible monitor to the market, which is no big deal, except that it has a 1440 P resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate --
It's almost unheard of today.
In most cases, you have to reduce the resolution to 1080 P in order to get a refresh rate of 240Hz.
In order to make a 1440 P 240Hz Display valuable, you need a powerful enough GPU to drive your game at 200 FPS.
I am happy to see Lenovo bring this monitor to market this year and I would like to see more companies follow higher resolution with a higher refresh rate --
Even if only a handful of GPUs are currently able to actually drive 1440 P at 200 FPS.
Lenovo has also launched its own ultra-
The ThinkVision P44w widescreen 44 "HDR display can be displayed from multiple sources and charged for both smart devices at the same time.
It also has dual USB 3.
Port 1 and display port 1. 4 ports.
One of the quieter news on CES 2019 is the VESA announcement, which is almost ready to announce the specifications of the new display port 2. 0 standard.
Display port finally got a major upgrade from 1.
Xa/B naming scheme, it may put display port before HDMI again for the foreseeable future.
New Display Port 2.
0 spec will release the VESA report in the first half of this year, which will help us usher in the future without compression supporting 8 k 60 hz.
All of these high resolution and features are supported without compression, allowing more wiggle space in the future to support higher resolution of compression.
In addition, the bandwidth and capability of the display port 2 have also been improved. 0 with Type-
C means the VirtualLink standard is likely not needed.
VirtualLink is more of a stopgap for virtual reality, which allows to provide enough bandwidth and power on a single cable without having to readjust the pins.
In CES 2019, showing technology is the most important thing, and almost every big company has something new or interesting to show.
OLED will be a very big trend for TV and PCs this year, and I'm sure we'll see OLED starting to gain revenue on LCD outside of smartphones.
HDR is becoming standard.
This is good because many smartphones already support it and now the experience outside of smartphones needs to be as good or better.
Over the past few years, demonstrating technology and innovation has been on a plateau at CES, so it's really good to see the industry starting to recover.
