Out of the box, the HC1450 should be good in almost any viewing environment.

If you are in a bright room or area, try to go to "color mode" in the settings and select "bright cinema ".
If the room is as dark as a movie theater, try the movie theater ".
There is also a "game" mode that reduces processing and input lag.
