The Wii U did not bring the feeling of its predecessor, the feeling that something new happened on Earth.
Grandparents and grandchildren gathered in front of the TV to wave plastic sticks and pretend to play bowls is not always routine.
On the contrary, the Wii U feels like accommodation for the New Life model launched by Apple's iPhone and iPad.
This summer, a New Yorker report evokes this lifestyle, which includes family members taking photos of beach holiday snaps while concentrating on their personal devices.

Nintendo highlighted the benefits of both approaches in the marketing process introduced by Wii U.
Screen games, especially what gamers see in the game, are different from what other players see on TV.
In doing so, Nintendo downplayed a simpler concept, one that is more easily understood by casual players and Apple fans: the touch screen.
By merging touch
A screen game with a video game system is designed next to the TV, not in a pocket or wallet, and Nintendo is more than just following the cultural trend.

Bowling together.
Nintendo is looking to invent a new way for us to communicate with the screen.
The company wants the Wii U to gather the family in the living room for touch --
Screen games instead of keeping them isolated from tablets and smartphones.
Of course, ad touch has always been a part of the game, as the physical interaction between the player and the device is at the heart of the media.
But in recent years, the standard controller has become more and more complex and has become an obstacle for new players who have not adapted to the growth of each iteration: the transition from one button to two buttons to four buttons, or from a joystick to a direction pad to two thumb sticks and a direction pad-
Not to mention the trigger and bumper as well as the start and select buttons. Easy, right?
Advertising simplicity is a big part of the wide appeal of the first Wii, although playing Wii U is not as simple as standing up and waving arms, compared to the controller used by Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, the touch screen is very simple.
Selecting songs in Nintendo's released k-song Game Party is done by sliding tiles on the touch screen of the game handle, and then clicking on the song you want.
The same is true of Ubisoft's "Dance of Justice 4", where players can use the touch screen to select the dance action midsong performed by other players.

In Takamaru's Ninja Castle, another Nintendo Land game, similar swipes throws martial arts stars on a cartoon cut.
In the Pikmin adventure, from the same disc, when the enemy appears on the game handle screen, beat them by clicking on them.
On Yoshi's fruit car, players scribble down a path on the touch screen and watch a character on TV.
The touch screen also allows the game board to quickly turn into a TV remote;
You can adjust the volume on the TV or quickly check the score of the football match without a separate device.
If you like what you see on a cable, or if you want others to watch TV in the same room, you can switch from playing the game of the New Super Mario Brothers.
You watch it unfold on your game board on TV.
As the last move points out, the game handle is more than just a touch screen, and Nintendo Land offers sketches of other possibilities.
The camera inside the game handle is used for the game Octopus Dance, projecting the player's real face onto the TV, the combination of virtual reality and the entity called augmented reality.
"In King Kong's Crash Course, gently blowing into the microphone of the game board will turn into a windmill and move a trolley into the air.
The game handle can be used as a viewfinder in the Metroid explosion and the Legend of Zelda: Battle Questto destroy with the enemy as its target.
In some other Nintendo Land games, characters can move by flipping or tilting the game handle or lifting it to the air, another technique borrowed from mobile and tablet games.
There is also hope that, if not more, the game board offers the possibility for intensive single player gamesplayer gaming.
In Ubisoft's ZombiU, the game handle changes some of the metaphors that players are used to, if not eliminated: the map is no longer a small icon on the lower level
The top right corner of the TV is also not a menu that has to be reached by pressing a series of buttons.

When you stare at your game handle and see what's in the backpack, then slide your finger into an open position and move your body, for example, when the pistol enters your hand, it also becomes No.
Similarly, digging lockers, filing cabinets and suitcases is also closer to real interaction in the gaming world.
Once again, when the first Wii console feels new, like Microsoft's latest Kinect, many think motion control will be quickly and widely integrated into long-time narrative games.
The intuitive interface of Wii Sports is sure to blend with storytelling ambitions.
Overall, this did not happen.
So, Spoiler warning: I don't know what the Wii U heralds or if it will permanently change the way we play alone or together.
But this is a good gift.

Why Digital Podiums Are Becoming Essential for Smart Classrooms and Hybrid Learning Environments in 2026

Education has undergone a significant transformation over the last decade. Traditional teaching methods that relied solely on blackboards, projectors, and paper materials are rapidly being replaced by interactive, technology-driven learning environments.

Schools, universities, training centers, and educational institutions worldwide are investing in smart classroom solutions that improve engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomes. Among these innovations, the Digital Podium has emerged as one of the most important pieces of classroom technology.

A Digital Podium is no longer simply a lectern for holding notes. It has evolved into a powerful teaching workstation that integrates computing, touch interaction, multimedia control, device management, and classroom collaboration into a single platform.

As hybrid learning, distance education, and smart campus initiatives continue to expand, digital podiums are becoming an essential component of modern educational infrastructure.
