gareth bayliss presents debut exhibition at ipswich art school - graphic design drawing pad

The famous graphic designer Gareth baylisss presented his first review of his work at his former Suffolk school.
Baylisss, 35, studied at Ipswich Art School, which is now a gallery and then for clients including Dizzee Rascal, Mo Wax, Stussy and Habitat
Bellis, who also teaches at the School of Art at Norwich University, continues his relationship with the art school by opening a weekend art club for children.
Meanwhile, returning to Ipswich School of Art shows some of his works

"It's hard to get together," said baylisss . " He spent four months organizing the exhibition with the help of Julia Devonshire, the Ipswich autonomous city council arts program official
"What do I want to say? Who's this for?
"I want to show as many processes as possible, as diverse as possible, and introduce new work.
"I kept it hidden all the time. I was in seclusion.
I do have a blog and I put things on it but a lot of things are not there.
"Visitors to the exhibition will be greeted by a wall with a special little arrow on the wall.
The organized scattering of this shape has been inspired by baylis's love of watching the eight brothers and has become a trademark of the artist.
The exhibition features two carefully crafted aluminum inserts and several screen prints with design variants.
"It will take them a few weeks," he said . "
"They are cut with vinyl, so I have to manually pick each arrow with a scalpel.
"Graphic Design is a perfectionist, spending too much time dealing with things.
Maybe it's good to prove it.
"I think my design is a craft.
"It is important that one can differentiate it as a craft, not as a" crush "of graphic design ".
Baylisss says his new collection shows he has moved away from graphic design.
A hood shown in a shape similar to a Falcon warning, drawn with a marker pen, can be repeated without the pen leaving the paper.

I have changed my career now and have not really been inspired by graphic design.
Baylisss said the main purpose of his work was to enjoy the experiment and "embrace the happy accident ".
"We are doing things and we should not question it too much," he said . ".
"When you are educated in art, you have too many questions about it.
"One wall of the exhibition is reserved for friends of baylisss.

"They did a great job," said baylisss . ".
"That crazy wall may be longer than all my work adds up.
