Buyers of Mike Hollaway custom homes have insisted over the years that they need a huge bath tub in the main bathroom, and they say some luxury buyers choose to skip the tub altogether.
Instead, they want a big walk-in shower.
"They don't have time to soak in the bathtub," Hollaway said . "
"You came over and looked at it and thought, 'that would be good.
There is no extra time.
"Similarly, the formal living room has disappeared in most home design, but now Hollaway says some luxury buyers are also canceling the formal dining room.
"Many people just want to have a nice dining area in the kitchen with lots of bar space in the kitchen," Hollaway said . ".
"You use it every day, not five days a year.
"The second living area has moved to a covered terrace, usually including its own kitchen, with features such as a pizza oven.
"It's more expensive than many interior designs," Hollaway said . ".

"You can push these doors open and now your outdoor terrace and the Big Room is a huge space," Lindsay said . ".

"It's not just for those who are extremely rich," he said . "
The price of home automation equipment that used to cost tens of thousands of dollars has dropped below $10,000.

"I think the news from Eagle Ford has created a whole new sensation and excitement.
It's huge for San Antonio.
I think this will continue to have a positive impact on the economy.
