how to draw a creepy clown - wacom draw

This Instructure will teach how to draw a weird clown using Autodesk Sketchbook and Wacom drawing tablets.
I 've had a drawing tablet for years and it's a great tool for drawing on a computer.
Even if you draw something on paper and then scan it, the drawing tablet is a great way to add extra details and colors.
What do you need: Autodesk SketchBook (
Can be downloaded from autodesk. com.
Before purchasing, you can download the evaluation version of SketchBook Pro to try it out, or get SketchBook Express for free.
This can be found elsewhere in the Apple App Store, Android store, Windows app store.
This is a reduced version but fully functional. )A computer (
SketchBook will also work on tablets like the iPad. ).
I have a MacBook Pro.
If you are using a PC, some of my shortcuts will be different because there is no command or Option key.
Wacom drawing tablet. (
I have been here for years.
I got it in 2001.
This is an Intuos graphic tablet.
This is USB and it can still be used with my MacBook Pro, so if you can't afford a new one, you can find one on eBay.
This is essential if you are going to draw on your computer. )
After installing SketchBook, turn it on, plug in your trusted Wacom tablet and find your pen input device.
Now, what do you draw.
First of all, you need an idea.
My idea is to type "spy" in Google to see what appears in the picture.
Some children are watching TV, haunted houses (? )
The moon, the monster, and a lot of dark blue and black stuff.
At least this gives me an idea about the background: the dark night sky.
So I chose a beautiful dark blue from the palette on the right and painted the background blue using the paint bucket.
I then select the marker and change the brush size by clicking on the brush properties circle and dragging to the right to increase its size.
I changed the color to black and then I started coloring the edges to make it darker outside and brighter at the bottom and in the middle.
If you look at the night sky, they usually get brighter on the horizon.
If you mess things up and make it too dark, change a tool, like a spray gun tool.
Marking the brush will only make things darker.
I switch to the spray gun, increase its perimeter, and hold down the option key (
Switch to eye dropper tool)
I can choose my blue background color and go back to where I want it.
Then switch back to Mark, select black and draw the horizon.
Every weird night needs a weird moon, right? Let's add one!
First, we add a new layer.
I like to use layers because I can remove or hide the layers of something if I don't like it later.
This is much easier than trying to erase and fix edges etc.
So go to the bottom right corner and click the hammer icon and drag down to open the layer palette.
Click on layer 01.
You are drawing on layer 01 now.
Choose your pencil now and choose a moon
A color like white or very light yellow.
You can draw a moon or use a circular tool.
Click circle mode in the long toolbar. (
If closed, go to window and select toolbar ").
There is a slider under it indicating if it is selected.
Then select a point, press and hold the shift key to click and drag;
It will be a perfect circle.
Then switch back to freehand mode (
Squeeze in toolbar)
Fill your moon
Or choose the paint bucket, it will be easier.
If you want to make it a little more realistic, find a reference picture of the moon and color that circle like it does.
I first select the gray by lowering the slider on the palette and then color it in a color similar to the moon picture.
This is good;
The moon still has to go
Now let's give the moon a little light.
Choose the spray gun tool to give a diameter larger than your moon, or at least a fairly large diameter.
Let's add another layer under it so you don't mess up your moon.
Go to the hammer, select the layer, and click layer 02.
Click on the right side of it and drag it under layer 01 so you can paint behind the moon.
Next, use the spray gun tool to draw a glow behind your moon.
To make the glow softer, select the brush property (
Tool palette, the upper icon in the middle looks like a slider)
Reduce traffic.
If it looks a bit Central, tap the side button on the pen to reposition it.
Then position your light.
Take a moment to appreciate your work. Beautiful.
Good so far.
I went back to Google, my "spy" search and found a creepy clown.
It will be perfect!
First, select a new layer 03 and then the pencil brush.
Next, draw an outline of what you think you will draw.
I drew a rough clown in the shortened field of view, holding a pumpkin in one hand and a rubber chicken in the other.
Once you have a rough color, go back and fill in the color you want with a rough estimate.
I gave the clown a red suit, a rainbow wig, and a pair of blue shoes.
There are also creepy black eyes and red clown nose.
The first thing I want to add dimension is shoes.
Using the spray gun, I filled around the edges with dark blue to make it lighter in the middle.
Then I stroke some shoelaces with lead and re-enter with light colors to give it some highlights.
Yes, it looks good. Good job.
Next, we will continue to discuss his trousers.
I used dark red and airbrush to add some shade to his pants and add some wrinkles.
Because it is far away, we would like to keep it dark.
I put on his shirt and decided to give it some balls.
I also started adding some shadows to his shirt.
Then start to deal with the folds on his neck, add shadows and give it depth.
I'm still working on this shirt to make it wrinkled.
I use the palette to select a nice red color and then lower the slider to dim it.
Or, if I want a specific color, I use the dropper that you can access by holding down the option key. (
I don't know what it is on PC, maybe alt.
Experiment by holding down different keys to see what happens. )
Press the space bar to bring something to pan and zoom;
Click zoom in the middle and pan around your picture in the circle outside.
For some reason, I decided to shine the pumpkin from the inside.
Then draw some green pumpkin lanterns on his chest.
Then I chose a new layer and started drawing jack-o-lantern. (
SketchBook Express only allows you to make 5 layers plus the background I have learned. )
Fill it with a marker and start adding depth.
Give it the ribs that feature to make it darker in the cracks, especially at the bottom.
Then give it a beautiful green light in it.
That's it. it's good.
Then draw some tip of the finger under the pumpkin and it looks like he's holding it.
Let's Make a rubber chicken next.
I did this on top floor 05 and last floor.
Oh, I hope we don't need it anymore.
This is not a problem if you have SketchBook Pro.
Fill the chicken again, the color is realistic, just like the real rubber chicken, the red comb, the open mouth, the tongue sticking out.
Use the spray gun to give it some depth and move to the body.
The background image gives you a rough idea of where to put things, but if it peeps at the edge of the upper drawing, you might want to remove some.
Once the chick is good and smooth, give it some bumps.
I made this with a pencil, made the black spot, then came back and made the highlight on it.
It's not perfect, but it works.
I'll put my fist on a new layer, but I'm running out of it, so it will be on this layer.
I wiped my fist from the background and started drawing a new one.
Imagine the plane of each finger part and make it a solid color.
Give it some shade and then start building it with a spray gun.
Then I added some blue shadows to the left side of it.
That chicken eye is not scary enough.
Add some white to the eye and give it a little iris and pupil.
Looks surprised now.
The clown's hair.
I filled all the colors with light colors, then filled it with dark colors, leaving a light edge on the back.
Then using the dropper, I chose some light color and started doing the whirlpool on my hair using the smallest brush setting.
It's for face now.
Even if it has black eyes, it looks so friendly.
Fill it with light gray first.
Then bypass the edges with dark gray to make the ears black.
Then add some glare to the inner edge of the ear.
Start coloring your nose with a spray gun and you may want to increase the diameter.
Make it look like a beautiful ball and add a small white circle to the highlights.
Next, draw some cheek bones and add some shadows around your eyes.
I made my mouth bigger and added some teeth with a pencil.
Then increase the size of the pencil and give it some red clown lips.
Add some highlights to the lips to give it depth.
I changed the shape of the eyes, so they are not just round spheres, then make it look creepy with some red and spray gun;
Red pupil of black eyes.
Add some green highlights where you think they might glow from Jacko-
Hang lanterns on the face and body of the clown.
Then I decided I needed more fingers under the pumpkin, so I added some on the pumpkin layer.
The moon behind the chicken looks strange, so let's move it.
Select the moon layer, click the side button on the pen, and then select the move/rotate option.
Move the moon to the right.
Then move the light from the bottom. Now save it.
SketchBook is saved as TIFF by default, with layers included.
If you want to email it or something, save it as a JPG or PNG file, which will flatten the layer.
You have, a creepy clown. Beautiful.
