A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
20 years ago, the workplace was a controlled environment where employers defined IT tools used by employees and the time and place they used them.
Today's emerging digital ecosystem makes the world more flexible and employees can do their job using the equipment, time and place they want.
Business IT therefore represents a balanced behavior.
"End users want the tools they use to be free, while organizations need to control security, governance and risk," said Maria Pardee, senior vice president . "
DXC Technology digital workplace and mobile president and general manager, recently at the breakfast roundtable hosted by telegraph and supported by tech.
"A similar situation is that children who want greater freedom and parents who want greater control.
Sean Walsh, director of operations and security services at NHS Digital, agreed.
"We need to balance the flexible new way of working and the new toolset to make sure we really know who can access the data and when.
Vodafone is a company that has changed a lot in recent years.
Now, instead of setting up technology for employees, it focuses on what it calls a "journey"-what someone wants to accomplish and how to do it.
Vodafone then decides the technical support needed, whether it's someone who wants to "join", "work", "develop" or "leave.
"For example, on-
By changing the platforms that new employees can access, or providing more resources on the systems they use most often, the onboarding journey for new employees may be improved.
Robert Leeson, head of IT at Vodafone Group's global office, said: "We have the concept of 'digital first', so when someone starts working in any market, they can keep up with the speed immediately.
Vodafone operates in 20 countries and the level of regulation varies greatly.
For many businesses, it is virtually or legally impossible to allow new, untested technologies to access their systems.
But the trend of openness is driving innovation.
Like Vodafone, Sainsbury's also provides employees with more IT freedom than ever before.
James Henderson, owner of digital workplace and collaboration tools products at Sainsbury, said: "We can no longer turn on specific devices.
This is about providing employees with business services that they can use from anywhere.
For Centrica, the owner of UK gas, cloud services help offset concerns about managing multiple systems and devices that are trying to connect to the business.
The wide availability of online resources is key to this development.
There's so much software available as a service, people-
Sources and digitisation of resources widely available online, the business can save time in the past --
Consumed and expensive.
For example, the manuals for thousands of boilers are already online, meaning Centrica does not need to invest in its own separate database.
Mark McCluskey, global director of system design for Centrica digital enterprise, said it can focus on areas where custom solutions are particularly needed, such as the need for application engineers to connect smart meters through secure links.
The provision of workplace technology may depend on the age of the employee.
"We must have seen millennial divisions around ourselves.
Help, "said MS Paddy.
Younger employees are more likely to solve problems themselves using online tools and apps than pick up the phone and make a phone call.
Many speakers at the Round Table noted that modern smartphones are seamlessly integrated with personal life and easily meet needs.
They noticed an app-
Environment-based can be a cheaper, faster, and more flexible way to provide IT for businesses.
Mr. mclucski added: "We are trying to get into a world where businesses are as simple as using smartphones, where you can drive your business forward with incremental changes, expensive IT deployments are not required.
Many organizations have adapted to social innovation driven by smartphones.
3,000 employees of NHS Digital now have tools like
Interact on video walls in different offices.
Sainsbury's collaborative space includes interactive whiteboards, similar to group chat.
Many companies at the roundtable have launched customized social media tools to help employees share ideas.
Sainsbury, Centrica and Kingfisher, which have the brand B & Q and Screwfix, encourage employees to communicate through Microsoft Yammer.
With so many channels of communication, however, IT leaders notice the danger of burnout.
But Charles Forte, the Defense Department's chief information officer, said technology could help work pressure.
"CIOs have the opportunity to be the chief connectivity officer and join the outside world with something that can help the community.
"In an effort to achieve responsible and efficient IT use, there is a lot to learn by observing how people use technology at home and personally.
"Young people are leading the trend and showing how they can improve their productivity," said Pardee MS.
