Clean the screen very well.
If there is any rust on the screen, please use a brush.
Let it dry completely before starting.
Test your skills and the color you choose before you start.
Draw a small screen or buy a small screen with the same material as your screen door and draw it out.
If designing with a template, please test your drawing on an old screen with the same size as yours.
Turn off the screen.
Put it on an isolated surface and the screen can stay for a few days when each coat dries.
Use a dark surface so you can see through the hole.
If not dark enough, cover the area with old black cloth.
Tape the edge of the frame with blue painter tape.
If you miss the tiny edges because of the tape, it's easier to touch with a small brush than paint from the frame.
Each coat is painted very lightly.
You don't want to plug these holes.
Even if you plan to wear the design later, paint the screen with at least two layers of paint.
If the paint blocks the hole, poke it out with a toothpick after the paint is dry.
After the second coat is dry, sketch out your design using blue painter tape.
If using the template, scroll the tape under the pattern.
Once done, spray or lightly apply two layers of polyurethane on the entire screen to protect your custom work.
