Multimeter is a tool used in electronic products to measure spectrum of different values ranging from volts to ohms (resistance).
The difference between the analog multimeter and the digital multimeter is that the measured value of the digital multimeter is displayed on the digital display, although the analog meter has a printed display scale of different electronic values that must be read.
Power the multimeter.
Make sure to attach positive and negative test leads.
Turn the multimeter to the voltage setting.
Place the positive end of the meter at 9-
Volt battery and negative pole.
If the battery is good, the reading will drop to nine volts.
Turn on the multimeter to make sure the wire is connected.
Switch to the resistor setting, which is measured in ohms.
Put the negative end of the meter at 100-
Ohm resistance and place the positive end to the positive end of the resistance.
If the resistance is good, the measurement will drop to about 100 ohms.
