Drew, the IPhone killer?
Is Samsung's Galaxy Fold smartphone the future?
Imagine the day when you turn on or on your smartphone to answer questions.
If things go as planned, the day may be earlier than you think.
We're not just talking about flip covers.
Mobile phones here, but smart phones with flexible actual screens, are not just mobile phones.
Well, Samsung's plans to launch the Galaxy Fold phone may be put on hold after some early reviews report a crack in the screen, but, it is said that 2019 is the year many major handset manufacturers plan to release new foldable phones.
The promise of smart technology like our smartphones can simply fold up like a piece of paper, which sounds great.
So what are the challenges in manufacturing flexible technologies? How flexible?
To answer this question, we need to understand what is flexible.
Do we need something that can be deformed without breaking (
So it doesn't matter if you sit on your phone because it will only bend and not break)?
Maybe we want to easily roll it into a cylinder with a piece of paper?
Even fold it like a galaxy fold?
These scenarios are very different, each with higher performance requirements for equipment and internal materials.
