I'm Batman.
I waited for years.
Since the release of Batman 1989-
Say these words and express them.
Considering that I spent most of my career writing rather than building the superhero physique, such a day seems unlikely to come except for Halloween. It has.
Virtual reality, long Science-
Recently, a science fiction movie that is cute but largely forgotten about mobile phone accessories has arrived.
Earlier this year we saw the release of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, making it possible to wear goggles and disappear into a digital environment --
As long as you have a high-priced, top-of-the-line computer.
Now with Sony's PlayStation VR,
On the PlayStation 4, many of us have been connected to our TV and virtual reality is spreading to the public.
It also brought Batman.
No better time.
Whether it's the result of the political season or the result of the October baseball game, this time of year many of us may feel the need to put on headphones and escape to our own private Disneyland.
Finally, I'm Batman.
"Batman: Arkham VR" is currently only available for the opening minutes of the Playstation 4 VR and is actually impressive if not amazing.
In the PlayStation VR headset, my apartment disappeared.
My parents' old sofa and my grandmother's trusted chair are gone.
I was standing in an iron elevator and walking into the cave.
When I knew my living room floor was stable, I was almost sure I was really moving.
Fantasy is not perfect. even top-of-the-
Line VR graphics can be a bit blurry sometimes.
But while my brain is smart enough to realize that I'm not actually in a cave, it's not so smart that it stops my adaptation.
So when I went to get Batman's cowl, there was a short surprise that it had no weight.
Even though Batman: Arkham VR ultimately feels more like a technical demo than a game --
We accompany the superhero to the crime scene, essentially looking around and pointing to the object that triggered the story --
The title took me out of my home in downtown Los Angeles and my ability to put me in the muck of downtown Gotham made me feel very themed --park-like. Voila!
This is the new frontier of the game.
We were told.
Interactive communities have been hyping virtual reality for most of the past five years.
When the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco was held in March, 23-year-old Palmer Lukiyear-
The old founder of Oculus, the inventor of the Rift headset, sent a message to skeptics: "You have to break your word.
"But there are a lot of obstacles before any vowels and consonants are swallowed up.
First, virtual reality is expensive.
The PlayStation VR is considered the most affordable, but the bundle still runs for about $500 plus the cost of the PlayStation 4 system.
Nevertheless, Sony still has a huge advantage over its competitors, has sold more than 40 million PlayStation 4 units, the rift is about $600, and the Vive is about $800, demanding high-end PC.
There are other challenges.
We have entered an era where interactive experiences are more accessible than ever before.
Thanks to the advent of mobile devices, we can play games anywhere and even capture digital Pokemon in the workplace.
The game is getting wider and more open.
VR has something that feels very old-
Whether it's the emphasis on bulky hardware or the idea of being completely isolated from the real world.
Not even every major game provider is sold on VR, for example, last week Nintendo launched a new mobile-centric console Switch-
Play it on TV or on a handheld or support it like a mini TVtablet monitor.
Although price points and release dates have not yet been announced, the core belief of the switch is contrary to VR.
It brings Games to your world and to your conditions, rather than trying to build a brand new game.
Richard Marks, chief architect of Sony's PlayStation VR, knows that there is still a lot of public demand.
"People think it's like having a 3-
What's different from TV is-
"It's a lot different than that," he said . ".
"A lot of people think, 'I don't find this attraction.
It may not be good.
Then someone else tried some low.
There is no terminal mobile solution that resonates with them, so they think our system is like this, but the cost is higher.
"I have always been skeptical about virtual reality.
Even game designers and researchers like Jesse Schell point out that sales will be relatively modest.
He expects to sell 4 million PlayStation VR headsets by the end of 2017.
But so is Sony's system: it's the most accessible high
End VR headset on the market.
This is also the best to see, bright lights tie the sun visor up, more attractive than the black box with wires.
It is even the most comfortable and convenient and only takes about 45-minute set-up.
After living with the system at home for about a month, I was passionate about it, especially as a party device.
The friends were taken.
Thrilling horror game "Until Dawn: A river of blood".
And the puzzle title "super cube "-
Imagine "Tetris" as a fully immersive universe.
Perfect for quick challenges.
However, after the initial excitement subsided, I have been worried about how often I will insert it.
Whether it's playing with cats, checking emails or replying to text messages, the prospect of sitting on the couch with headphones isn't always appealing.
Content can change that, and while there are some notable experiences with the PlayStation VR, it's still too early.
One of the best is the "work simulator", which is the irony of modern life.
In the future, the workplace we know is no longer there, and the cubicle and line cooking stations are kept in the museum --like settings.
It provides enough jokes and finds to kill an afternoon
For example, throw a cup of coffee at a robot worker, or create a fake spreadsheet on an old computer to lie about the company's income.
Goodtoois "willful sky" unfolds in front of players like a digital board game, "Keep talking, no one explodes" is a simple, attractive bomb --
Invite games for those who don't have headphones on.
For more action.
Facing, there is a fast "Rez Infinite" crazemoving shoot-'em-
Along with retro vector graphics, it looks back at the best state of the 80 s early game, and it's not in VR until now.
My favorite VR experience, however, is not a game. It's a movie —sort of.
Penrose studio Allumette lets players relax in a starry world that looks like Venice.
We can see the past from the door and corner.
An animated short film about the connection between mother and daughter was launched, but we felt like we played as much in the world as we watched.
Look at the floating boat!
Let's lean forward and see what's going on inside.
If VR has been around for a while as a daydream, "Allumette" feels fresh --
The mix of technology and format unconsciously provides a strong reason to explore this expensive new technology.
What works-and will work —
In this space, we have to be different from anything we haven't played or watched yet.
It's too early to argue whether the new language will be popular, but "Allumette" makes me hopeful about learning it.
