This is David hokney and I watching the slide machine at a hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota, joking.
In those days, when you want to see color photos, you put a small slide of 35mm in one of the gadgets.
I have my own gallery with a slide tour of the recent work of the artist I represent.
The $10 bill must be a joke: whatever he sees in the viewfinder, he will give me $10.
As part of a British audience, we visited the new London painting scene exhibition at the Walker Art Center in Minni apores.
We have about 10 people, including Alan Jones, Joe Tilson and Richard Smith.
It's so cold that none of us have experienced anything like this-below 40.
This photo was taken that morning and we were frozen.
Fishing is a hobby in Minnesota where they dig a hole in the ice and sit with a bucket of Bloody Mary hoping to catch a fish with a local collector.
In the afternoon, when the photos were taken, we were all very happy and waiting for the opening of the party.
Hawkney and I are very thick.
In 1960, I looked through a picture of him, his Doll Boy, and spent £ 40 in the student performance "young contemporaries.
Between abstraction and metaphor, this is a strange picture that immediately won my love.
It hit me like a dress has to hit a girl: You think, 'God, that's it!
I sent him a letter at the Royal Academy of Art, where he was a student, inviting him to drink tea.
He has black crew.
Cut hair and national health glasses, very shy and very poor.
I like what he does, so I'm trying to get the gallery where I work-Marlborough-to represent him.
They found the job a bit sloppy and stupid, so I started selling this weird painting on his behalf for 8 pounds instead of cutting it.
When I set up my own gallery in 1963, hockeni was one of the first people I arranged to represent.
His reaction to his first solo performance in 1963 was excellent.
He became a star in college.
He is a bit rebellious.
When he bought the print for £ 100, he spent it on a trip to New York.
He came back with blond eyes.
More confident, more gorgeous.
He didn't pass the Royal College exam because there was one thing he wouldn't do-write an article or something-so he decided he would get a gold jacket if he didn't have a gold medal.
A prank like this made everyone fall in love with him.
He has a charming, pleasant nature, but it is not calculated-he is cheeky, not evil.
