The Labor TD has written to Ceann Comhairle against plans to provide touch screen tablet equipment to TDs and Senators.
Yimononi says he believes there has been enough proper technology since the election.
He said it was wrong to invest in the current difficult financial environment, and members had already acquired "quite a lot of technology ".
"I think the last thing TDs needs is running around Kildare Street with a tablet in his arms and a mobile phone in his pocket.
"I think we must have some sense in this matter.

Mr. murquette said that in the long run they would save money as part of the overall move towards a paperless office.
"We are trying to enter into an important historical contract with the printer that has been there to provide a variety of documents from any parliament. . .
So it actually comes from cost-saving measures.
"Speaking on the same item, he said that the contract for tablet equipment had been tendered under the new procurement framework set up by the ministry of public expenditure.
A contract is expected to be signed by the end of November.
Mr. murquette said there was a view that something was being purchased for members of the Irish parliament.
"It's no different than having a personal computer or any other hardware in the building, and I think there might be the same argument when the personal computer is first provided," he said . ".
