The company, which will be called Shenqi, may be worth "billions of dollars" after it starts selling smartphones and the Internet"
In an interview with Beijing headquarters on April, the company's chief executive, Yang Yuanqing, said his brand of connected home equipment had been launched.
Yang declined to give a time frame for any financing move, and declined to give the names of specific investors.
