An all-Berlin man showed gardai how he stole a credit union, but later became aggressive and spat in the eyes of an officer who had been remanded on trial.

The Dublin Markievicz House, at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, admitted the theft of the St. Patrick's credit union in Herbert square, on Easter Monday, April 21, 2014, in an attempt to enter the House at Merlion square, and attacked Samuel Paul Carroll at Pierce Street Mall.
He had previously convicted 64 convictions, including 18 burglary cases, 1 robbery and 3 attacks, all in the district court.
Plunkett was caught with a laptop and a projector belonging to the credit union, not far from his home trying to break into Merlion square.

Garda responded to the phone and found Plunkett in Mount Street Crescent that met the description of the intruder.

Plunkett refused to turn off the phone on the way to garda Station and became aggressive after the phone was taken away.
He had to carry his hands and feet into the station and was put in a cell where he jumped up from the bunk and spat at Gda Carroll.

Mr Clark submitted to Judge Sarah Berkeley that his client did not provide any excuse for his aggressive behavior, but since he had taken so many pills, he could not recall the circumstances of that day.
Counsel said that Plunkett was associated with heroin when he was young with unfortunate bereavement and then relapsed when his wife died in 2012.
Mr. Clark said that his client had a good working history and was used to providing pharmacy medicine for the frail elderly.
Judge Berkeley submitted the matter to the probation service report and told the court that any structure in the judgment would be based on the report.
