Pickering City believes that a new project will improve the appearance of the railway overpass, which, while providing information through digital signs, also experiences a fair share of graffiti.
Pickering is launching a new project that will see digital signs in Canada's national railway overpass and other parts of the city.
The proposal was adopted at the meeting of the executive committee on February. 5.
"The council unanimously adopted this resolution, which I think demonstrates the council's continued commitment to our community," Mayor Dave Ryan said . ".
The city is working with CN Rail and RCC Media Inc.
For items that will produce a digital screen on the CN overpass and monument ,-
Stylish logo located around the city.
"This will give us an opportunity to increase public participation, release information, and also allow us to promote Pickering City," Ryan said . ".
This partnership is designed to help beautify the CN bridge infrastructure, strengthen communication with Pickering residents, businesses and tourists, and provide prominent spaces to display information during emergencies or other related issues, such as special weather events.
Ryan believes that the initiative was well suited to Pickering when he noticed signs on trains in other cities.
The CN railway overpass on Kingston Road will get a sign that it has long faced the challenge of blindness due to degradation and graffiti.
"It obviously solves the graffiti problem to a certain extent.
This is an ongoing problem for me and this is something I feel strongly about. "Ryan said.
"This is just a step in solving the graffiti problem.
He said more initiatives are expected this spring.
The proposal by RCC Media outlines threephase approach.
The staff will proceed with the other stages, starting with phase 1, following a review of the results.
The first phase, which will begin in spring, will see the digital logo on the CN bridge overpass on Kingston Road West Dick Road, which will have an LED screen.

Side billboards, currently located in the CN railway corridor in the northwest corner of Liverpool Road and Bayly Street, are used to display digital screens.
Both signs will allow the third one.

"They are essentially safe.
He added that there are already many signs on the road.
"It will be bigger and, frankly, easier to read," he said . ".

David Pickles asked the staff at the meeting if there were any signs that caused the problem and if it could be deleted.
"Absolutely, we're going to monitor it," said chief executive Tony preweddle . ".
Financial commitments are limited to hydropower and data communication costs for monuments-style signs.
Other Canadian cities with similar projects include Toronto, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Calgary and Montreal.
