A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
Children's inattention is associated with poor academic outcomes and lifelong functioning, which puts a huge burden on health and education.
It is estimated that one out of every 10 Australian children-24 billion-has a decline in their ability to pay attention at an annual cost of about US dollars.
The recent NHMRC Development Grant has made it possible for existing attention and cognitive training programs to adapt to a wide range of attention barriers in childhood.
Training Attention and initiative in learning (TALI)
The training program registered as TALI TrainTM is an interactive technology that helps to treat attention deficiencies through the core process of training attention.
TALI TrainTM was developed by MICCN researchers in collaboration with Disney's annual developer Grey Innovation and Torus Games.
The program's training practice kit is in the form of a portable attention training program that can be provided via any touch screen tablet.
Program design and reward features enhance child engagement to ensure that the 5-
Training course for one week
Under the leadership of Professor Kim Cornish, director of MICCN, in cooperation with Professor Vicki Anderson of Murdoch Children's Institute (MCRI)
The goal of the successful project team now is to adjust and optimize the TALI TrainTM project module to extend the project to new groups of children, such as children with brain injury.
With the support of the development grant, TALI's promising results will be extended to children with acquired brain injury, as well as children who are typically developing when they enter school.
This gives about 75% of children the potential benefits of the technology.
"The clinical efficacy of TALI TrainTM in children with intellectual delay has been demonstrated in a randomized controlled trial," said Professor Cornish . ".
"We are pleased to receive this very important grant and look forward to developing TALI to benefit more children and families across Australia.
"This grant is the largest such grant at the School of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.
MICCN congratulated the TALI team on their success.
