A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
As we all know, LG GD510 or Cookie Pep is essentially a young phone that promises fun and exciting features like one-click access to social networking sites and photosedit features.
Let's start with the look.
At first glance, it looks very simple;
Some users may even find it too "boxy" and plain Jane.
Cookie Pep has 3-
Inch full touch screen with "almost frameless" design.
While this does give you a phone that looks more compact, it has a big compromise on usability because there is no room to actually hold the phone without feeling too crowded.
We tested the screen in direct sunlight, but we couldn't distinguish other screens except for the menu screen with a black background.
There is a small round button on the top, that is, the power switch, which can also be used to lock or unlock the phone.
The phone automatically enters the screen when you make or answer the phone-
Lock mode to prevent the touch screen from being activated when you close your phone to the face.
We think this is a thoughtful feature of LG, although this feature is not as effective as a phone with proximity sensors.
However, one downside is that the screen is locked when you get a call, which means you have to unlock the phone before you answer the call.
The left panel has a toggle switch for adjusting the volume and a mini switch
USB ports that can also be used to charge your phone.
Only the camera shutter button located in the lower right corner on the right.
LG has canceled multiple buttons, except for the touch screen, there is only one button in the lower right corner that can be used as a tool to reboot
Guide you to one of three customizable home screens.
The button also lights up in red when you call, and when you receive the call, the button lights up in green.
The home screen calls the home screen "3-
Interesting user interface.
The "Livesquare" screen allows you to assign small "avat" to friends.
Whenever you get a phone call or text message, you can customize it as an "avatar" of an animal or human to pop up an alarm.
You can drag and drop these avatars anywhere on the screen and arrange them to your liking, and you can also call, text or email.
The speed dial screen allows you to add up to nine friends at a time, and you can customize your contacts with photos or images.
"Widget screen" allows you to bring your favorite apps like social networks (
Including Facebook, Myspace and Twitter)
Weather, radio, galleries.
However, just swipe your finger on the screen to switch between the home screens, be careful, because the touch interface can get confusing and you usually activate one of the icons instead of switching the screen.
At the bottom of each home screen, there is a constant toolbar that allows you to access call history, contacts, messaging, and main menu buttons at once.
The menu screen can be a bit scary with four lines of icons.
The icons are very small and there are too many options, which tends to be a bit confusing.
They are divided into communications, entertainment, utilities and the environment.
LG is trying to simplify the menu screen by having you access all the options with one click, but the downside is that the screen looks crowded and you often press the wrong icon like switching the home screen.
The feature camera is a good 3-meg resolution.
The picture quality is average and there are not too many "particles", which is a positive performance factor.
Also, LG has actually added a lot of content to the camera feature of the Cookie Pep.
You can adjust the size, color effect, white balance, mode and quality.
When the camera button activates the shutter in camera mode, outside that mode, when pressed, it pops up a screen of your favorite app that you can edit.
There are a lot of editing options for your photos;
You have the option to insert text and select the frame, and when you are done, you can send the image as a multimedia text or email attachment or upload it directly to the blogger.
Texting on Cookie Pep can be a bit difficult. The built-
In accelerometer, the alphanumeric keyboard becomes the full QWERTY keyboard when in landscape mode, but the keys are too small, which causes a lot of errors when typing.
We ended up hitting the send button a few times instead of the space key next to it.
Browsing the web on Cookie Pep is not a great experience.
The internet is slow and takes a while to load.
Using the same SIM card on different phones will produce better results, so this is the problem LG needs to solve.
Under the social networking widget, you have access to Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace.
All three are apps that are easy to use and navigate.
The Twitter app has a simple user interface that impressed us.
While there is an email icon, the only account you can access is Google.
For any other email provider, you must view the HTML website on your regular browser.
The call quality is very clear and clear, loud enough even in a noisy environment.
However, the person at the other end does mention a little echo and sounds a bit soft from our side.
The battery life was very good and lasted more than two days.
Our verdict is priced at Rs 7,099 and Cookie Pep is at the same level as Samsung's Corby and Nokia 5233.
Although the phone offers similar features, it still has a bit of a loss in touch sensitivity.
Nokia's touch screen phone is ahead of LG in this function.
We like to use LG Chocolate and hope they can add similar touch sensitivity to the low end phones as well.
