pert smart home products review - smart board accessories

Have you ever thought about turning off the lights and not wanting to get up from the bed, so you just sleep with the lights on and you want your AC to turn on while you Park, let the lights turn on when you enter the door? Commitment to IoT issues (
Internet of Things)
The company has been working hard for years and thanks to Amazon Echo-which was released last year and is now available in stores-it has become much easier to build smart homes.
One of the solutions comes from Pert in Hyderabad-
Startups that offer a variety of smart home products: Plugs, switches, sensors, locks, and even curtain systems.
There is no shortage of IoT brands selling smart home kits, but with Pert, you don't need to replace all power distribution boards or install hubs.
This means that it even applies to those who rent a house and therefore cannot be modified too much.
All products of Pert work with Alexa through Pert skills.
You need a Pert account-using an email, Facebook, or Google account-and then link to Alexa.
Pert also supports the use of conditional statements (if X, then Y) to create a service IFTTT For triggers between various Web services.
This allows you to use Google Assistant to control your lights, link different smart devices such as Philips Hue bulbs with Pert, or even create a Twitter bot, tweet every time you turn on the device to remind you.
At the heart of Pert smart home products is "node", which has the same functions as the smart switch, but will not replace your existing switch.
Instead, it needs to be installed inside your switch and connected to the wiring of your lights and fans.
It takes about 9x5x2 cm of space inside each switch.
Installation requires 10-
Each node is 15 minutes, and although Pert provides a video tutorial on how to install it yourself, it is better to hire an electrician to solve it.
Pert sent its own engineers to be in charge of the installation for our review, but unfortunately this is not the service that the company provides to all customers.
After the installation, we found that a light flashes sometimes when the fan is turned on or off, and we have to call our own electrician to solve the problem.
Installing the Pert 4 node Pert node allows you to turn the lights on or off using a physical switch or via the Pert app or Alexa.
This means that when you walk into the room, you can use the switchboard as usual to turn on the lights and then have Alexa turn it off after you go to bed.
The only extra work is that the switch will remain on and you will need to flip it manually before you can use it to turn the light on again.
It works the same way as others-the app will always show the true state of any device, but the physical switch remains where you left them last time.
You can also control the speed of the fan, but you need to physically disassemble your existing regulator and replace the interior with the board supplied by Pert.
The Pert node is divided into four and eight channels, which basically determines the number of lights or fans you can control.
If you have two
Through the switch, you need to install the Pert node in both switches.
If your light is dimmable, you can also control it by either using the Pert app or telling Alexa to change the brightness.
Each node has a large and a small regulator, but you can't buy them separately if you need more.
Nodes, applications, and Alexa are only responsible for the convenience aspects of smart homes.
In order to automate, you need more smart products in the Pert series, namely, multi-sensors and door sensors.
It has infrared transmitters and receivers, as well as temperature, brightness and gas sensors.
This means that as long as there is a line in the multi-sensor, you can turn on/off anything that works through IRof-sight to it.
For example, if your TV and air conditioning are across the street from the room, you may need more than one.
Pert has established a roster of devices that already know about remote control solutions, including popular products from big brands.
For all the other things that are not in the database, you need to use the original remote control of the device to train the multi-sensor.
Unlike the Logitech Harmony remote control, which can learn the remote solution with just one click of the button, Pert asks us to map each button on the remote control one by one, if you have multiple infrared devices in each room, this can be laborious.
Pert multi-sensor by using a temperature sensor, Pert can find out if the AC power needs to be turned on/off, which helps to save electricity.
You can also set a trigger for the luminosity sensor, while the gas sensor can send you a notification if an indoor gas leak or smoke is detected.
There are two Pert door sensors-
Part devices that need to be installed in the width of the door and where the wall meets.
Then, when the door opens, it can detect that the two parts are far away from each other.
In addition to the door sensor, Pert provides a motion sensor that can be done according to its name.
With the Pert app, you can create some programs that turn off the lights if they don't move for a while in the room, like ten minutes.
If you want the light to go off after you fall asleep, or as part of a security system, this can also come in handy if an intruder is detected.
Fully automated--
For example, when you park, the air conditioner is on and the light is on when you walk into the door-you need to define a geographic location in the Pert app.
When the app detects that your phone enters your home environment, it sends a command to a multi-sensor over the Internet, which turns on the air conditioner.
When you enter, the door sensor handles the light on.
All Pert devices are built in-in Wi-
Fi and need to be set up separately, which may mean a lot of work.
First of all, you need to connect your smartphone to your device's own Wi-
The Fi SSID then goes into the Pert application.
It should detect that you are connected to the device for installation.
You have to choose your home Wi-
The Fi router and enter its password so that the Pert device can connect to it on its own and then have it work locally or remotely.
There are some security issues here.
Default password for Pert devices-12345678-nothing is safe except security.
Anyone using the app can pair up with your device and change their settings, although it's worth mentioning that they also need physical access.
Pert tells us that all user data is stored locally and there is nothing on the server;
When you try to control your Pert device from outside the home network, all communication is encrypted.
Various ways to control Pert devices through Pert apps, IFTTT, and alexapercepert devices, if you control them through Pert apps on Android and iOS, the fastest response.
Of course, this does not include the time it takes to unlock the phone, find the app and wait for it to open.
The app is responsive but takes about 4-
Turn on the iPhone 6 Plus for 5 seconds.
You can set up the Pert device to make your Wi-
Fi network, or 4-digit passcode.
You can also control Pert devices from the smart home section of the Alexa app, which searches them for the first installation, and then sorts them into devices, groups, and scenarios accordingly.
Then there is the easiest way: "Alexa, turn off the lights ".
The Alexa app looks and operates better than the Pert app, but it's a little slower-about a second, sometimes even shorter-because your command is routed through the Pert Alexa skill.
Using your voice is the slowest method of control, because Alexa first resolves your command and then talks to the Pert skill, which sends the command to the Pert device.
About 2-
Alexa queries for 3 seconds and then 2 seconds before the lights turn on/off.
At the beginning of our review period, we encountered an error that prevented the Pert app from showing any routines we created, and the developer had to post the fix through the App Store.
We also had problems with multi-sensor, we used multi-sensor on Sony braavia TV, Sony Blu-ray TV
During the review process, ray home theater and Daikin AC.
In many cases, the multi-sensor turns on the air conditioner even if no command is issued, and a few hours later we walk into the room and find it cold, wasting power and money.
After Pert fixed the routine error on the iOS app, the situation stopped, but it didn't inspire confidence.
While the Pert application can show you the status of the lights connected through the nodes, IR devices can only be triggered by multiple sensors and cannot provide such feedback, so you cannot monitor them remotely.
Another problem with the Pert multisensor and its box is the number of commands supported through the Pert app, not the Alexa skill.
From the app, you can control any button on the remote control of the device, although due to the app talking to the router, there will be an obvious delay in the command being relayed, router to multi-sensor, then multiple sensors to the device. It takes 1-
For example, the time for a multi-sensor to change the TV volume or channel is 2 seconds.
If you rely on Alexa, the number of options will drop sharply.
The multi-sensor supports switching on/off the AC and changing the temperature, turning the TV on/off and entering the channel number, but there is no other function other than that.
For example, you can't increase the volume of your TV by talking to Alexa, or change the input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2.
You cannot change the swing setting or fan speed with air conditioning.
Finally, what annoys us is the bright state LED of the multi-sensor.
It will be red during setting, blue when setting, but disconnected from Wi-
Fi and app, and bright green when it's working.
While you won't notice it during the day, it can be a hassle at night when you try to sleep.
You can dispel the idea of putting black tape on the LED as it's right next to multiple sensors the device needs to work on.
Obviously, the multi-sensor is more suitable for the living room than the bedroom.
VerdictPert's product is designed to help convert the "dumb" home into a smart home, the Pert node puts your old switch on the Internet, and the Pert multi-sensor lets you control the IR-
Only products from anywhere.
They work well to a large extent, giving you the flexibility to turn on the lights from wherever you like-switch, Pert app, alexa or IFTTT-without having to find their respective remote controls, basic commands can be provided to IR devices.
The biggest drawback of the Pert 4 Node and these two regulators is that these products cannot be classified as affordable products.
Formal Pert 4-node costs Rs. 7,743, the 8-
The node comes in Rs.
8,849, Rs for multi-sensor.
The motion sensor is another Rs 8,295.
The door sensor is Rs 2,395. 1,843(
Including 18% tax on goods and services).
Pert is usually sold through offline dealers and you may make better deals with them.
But it's still a pretty big investment because if you want to fully automate your home, at least one is needed for each room.
According to our calculation, the bill may exceed Rs for 3BHK.
1, 00, 000, this does not include additional accessories such as motion/door sensors, smart plugs and curtain controls.
When you see this investment, you obviously want to be perfect.
Unfortunately, we cannot assure you of this with Pert.
The app doesn't look or feel very good, and the multi-sensor will stand out in your room due to its appearance (
The bright light we mentioned).
The best is the Pert node because it is always hidden.
The Pert node is also one of the few refitting switch accessories that work seamlessly with Alexa and IFTTT, and the only product we can wholeheartedly recommend.
There are better options for other categories.
