projecting the future and preserving the past in plans to redevelop mudgee\'s art deco theatre - cinema projector

At its peak, the magnificent Art Deco Regent Theatre in the Midwest of New South Wales is the center of community entertainment.
Even now, its paint is bright, the decorative fixtures and cornice are in good condition, and the large movie projector upstairs in the projection room is still working --
Although it was closed since 2009, everything was full of dust.
Bill suteto's family owned the building almost all their lives.
He said it was designed at the Regent's Theatre in Sydney, the largest in Australia and the largest in the screen on one stage.
The farmer said he wanted the plan for the new owner to redevelop it into an office and apartment building to go smoothly, but it would be sad for Muji.
Like many other closed Australian country cinemas, Muji's 1935 Regent is a treasure trove of local history and stories.
Bill suteto and his wife ran the theater at the age of 1980 and 90, but his family started contacting when his grandfather bought the theater in 1937.
"It brings back a lot of memories;
"I had a good time here," Mr Suttor said . ".
"We had quite a few live performances at the end.
It was a break from the hotel.
"Mr. Suttor said that he had solved a handful of equipment failures with his own tools and said that he had no problems with the customer.
However, he did run away.
With some bikies who steal steel letters used on movie theater billboards.
"I had a stock whip, took it around the corner and fired a few shots with it, and they quickly disappeared.
"Unfortunately they got their logo.
I don't know which gang it is, but they have full names.
Suteto said he was disappointed that the Regent would not stay in the theater, but he took a pragmatic approach.
"I think it's a loss for Muji, but it's been a few years now," he said . ".
"Unfortunately, the council simply does not see a way to develop it or to study it.
"I wish the new developers all the best and I think putting the foyer and entrance downstairs will keep the image of the theater alive.
New Sydney-based co-
Cameron Scott, director of Regent's theater
Fell, who grew up in Muji and owned rural properties in the area, said he had a "passion" for the "lovely" building ".
Buying and rebuilding will cost more than $5 million, he said, is an adaptive rebuilding
Use of buildings.
Mr. Scott: "I believe there are a lot of people who are interested in going through this and none of them can do it, including the Midwest Commission. Fell said.
His plan includes keeping the first three of the building in public.
Accessible offices and shops then create private residential apartments in the next two placesthirds. Mr Scott-
Farr said he plans to install a cinema projector in the lobby of the building, along with a photographic display, and keep the ticket booths and murals in the old candy bars.
When nearly 1,000 theaters were demolished, he said, replicas around the decorative art screen would be placed on the exterior walls of the building and old seats would be provided to the public.
Nicole Wootton's father, John, rented the Regent's theater from suterres between 1974 and 1981, and while she was only two months old when he died, she was told of his
"I often hear a lot of locals say they have a lot of fun at Regent's theater," MS Wootton said . ".
Her father bought the second one, too.
Holding the Super Zenith 450 projector and installing it in the projection room of the Regent, the place therefore evokes photos of her father in the habit of candy bars.
"There's always a big chunk of fruit and nut chocolate.
He really enjoyed his time in the screening room.
Ms. Wootton wrote to the council against the development of the application and argued that the building should be retained as a performance space because Muji needed something of this size.
"I 've been here for school activities that grew up in town," she said . ".
"I just feel that it is a shame that this part cannot be retained for this purpose.
"Ms. Wootton said she hoped the community would still be able to walk into the building and feel the past.
"The space has such a beautiful, spectacular feeling," she said . ".

Why Digital Podiums Are Becoming Essential for Smart Classrooms and Hybrid Learning Environments in 2026

Education has undergone a significant transformation over the last decade. Traditional teaching methods that relied solely on blackboards, projectors, and paper materials are rapidly being replaced by interactive, technology-driven learning environments.

Schools, universities, training centers, and educational institutions worldwide are investing in smart classroom solutions that improve engagement, collaboration, and learning outcomes. Among these innovations, the Digital Podium has emerged as one of the most important pieces of classroom technology.

A Digital Podium is no longer simply a lectern for holding notes. It has evolved into a powerful teaching workstation that integrates computing, touch interaction, multimedia control, device management, and classroom collaboration into a single platform.

As hybrid learning, distance education, and smart campus initiatives continue to expand, digital podiums are becoming an essential component of modern educational infrastructure.
