This is a projector stand for hanging the projector from the ceiling.
I bought a projector for Christmas and I want to hang it on the ceiling but the stand is too expensive.
So, I spent about $20 building this after my Home Depot trip.
This bracket is very strong (
It may even be over-used for this small projector)
, Once it's on the ceiling, you can adjust the tilt of the projector.
These instructions apply to Hitachi Dukane projectors, but can be easily modified to fit any other projector.
Required materials: Hitachi Dukane projector (model : CP-X345)Aluminum belt (
3/4 "x 1/8" x 48 ")
Galvanized 6 "joint (1/2" x 6")
21/2 "galvanized iron floor Flange 44mm flat washing machine s3 4mm-.
25mm "nylon gasket (7x1/2)3/8" OD x . 171" ID)2 4mm-. 7 Hex Nuts3 10-
24x3/4 Head machine screws (
These should have matching nuts)
Optional material: flat black painted steel wool tool required: Drill bit (
Various bits)
Optional tool: a ViceFlat metal file near the end of the aluminum belt drill a hole.
This hole should be large enough that the thread of the 4mm screw can slide through.
Pass a 4mm screw through the hole and screw it into one of the three holes at the bottom of the projector.
Use the first screw as the pivot of the rotating aluminum belt to mark the position of the second hole.
I found it helpful to put the mark directly on the screw hole of the projector and then rotate the aluminum strip to the position below the mark.
Drill holes where you mark.
Draw a line on aluminum, about 1/2 from the hole you drill.
With a saw along the wire cutting strip (
This is where the Deputy comes in handy).
Put a 4mm screw through each of the two holes you 've drilled.
Then place a nylon gasket on each screw and screw it into the projector.
Place the flange on the top of the aluminum strip so that the flange is centered on the projector, and the aluminum strip is visible through two holes in the flange.
Then, mark the aluminum strip at the center of the two holes.
Drill through each of these two marks.
Remove the strap from the projector.
Pass two 10 screws through the flange holes and place their corresponding holes on the Strip.
Tighten the nut to each screw.
In the remainder of the aluminum belt, drill holes near the end, similar to step 1.
Pass a 10 screw through the flange and through the hole you just drilled.
Tighten the screws with nuts.
Use 10 screws as a pivot to mark the drilling position of the third hole, similar to step 2.
Drill the third hole according to the mark.
Draw a line from these third holes on the aluminum strip of about 1/2.
Wire cut along this line with a saw.
Place two aluminum bars on the pair at a time, one, and use the file to shape the corners into circles.
Brush the surface of two aluminum pieces using steel wool, galvanized joint and floor flange.
There are several in each part of the spray (3-5)
Light color coating of black paint.
After the paint is completely dry, attach two pieces of aluminum to the flange, but do not tighten the nut.
Pass the two screws with washers through the first two screw holes with a nylon gasket on each screw.
Pass the third screw through the aluminum, then through the hex nut of 4mm and put it into the projector.
Once the projector is located on the ceiling, this nut can be used to adjust the tilt of the projector.
Screw the nipple onto the flange.
Connect the remaining flanges to the ceiling.
Finally, place the thread of the 6 "nipple into the ceiling flange and rotate the entire assembly to screw in.
