How does the touch screen work? T.
There are three main components of the Tamil NaduA basic touch screen: touch sensors, controllers, and software drivers.
The touch screen is an input device and therefore needs to be combined with the display and PC or other devices in order to form a complete touch input system. 1.
Touch Sensor: the touch screen sensor is a transparent glass panel with a touch response surface.
The touch sensor/panel is placed on the display so that the response area of the panel covers the visual area of the video screen.
There are several different touch sensor technologies on the market today, each using different methods to detect touch inputs.
The sensor usually has a current or signal passing through it, and touching the screen can cause a voltage or signal to change.
This voltage change is used to determine the location of the touch to the screen. 2.
Controller: the controller is a small PC card that connects the touch sensor to the PC.
It takes information from the touch sensor and converts it into information that the PC can understand.
The controller is usually installed inside the monitor of the integrated display, or in the plastic housing of the external touch plug-inons/overlays.
The controller determines what type of interface/connection you need on your PC.
The integrated touch display back will provide additional cable connections for the touch screen.
A controller that can be connected to a serial/COM port (PC)
Or USB port (PC or Macintosh).
A dedicated controller for DVD players and other devices can also be used. 3.
Software driver: The driver is a software update to the PC system that allows the touch screen to work with the computer.
It tells the computer's operating system how to interpret the touch event information sent from the controller.
Most touch screen drivers today are mouse-
Emulation type driver.
This makes the touch screen the same as clicking the mouse at the same location on the screen.
This allows the touch screen to work with existing software and allows the development of new applications without the need for touch screen specific programming.
Some devices, such as thin clients, DVD players, and dedicated computer systems, either do not use software drivers or have their own built-in programs --
Touch screen driver.
All the touch screens provided basically work like a mouse.
Once the software driver of the touch screen is installed, the touch screen will simulate the mouse function.
Touching the screen is basically the same as clicking the mouse at the same point on the screen.
