review: canon ixus 1100hs - touch screen digital picture frame

Canon has recently increased its focus on consumer points --and-
Shooting the camera, the purpose is to inject the higher end of the function into a lighter form-factor.
Their latest addition to the line
Up is Canon IXUS1100HS (
Known in the United States as ELPH 510.
Canon IXUS 1100HS camera, SanDisk 4 gb sd card (Class 4), Lanyard, user-
Instruction Manual, standard USB cable and software disc.
Just measuring.
86 inch thick, IXUS 1100HS has the back of 12 pixels
Lighting sensors that provide the best image quality.
"H" in the name represents "high sensitivity" and represents a combination of the back
The lighting sensor, along with Canon's Digic image processor, provides excellent image quality even in case of insufficient light.
The camera is also equipped with a moderate 12x optical zoom (28mm-
336mm equivalent)
In a fairly small package.
The camera replaces the traditional button inventory at the back with 3. 2-
Inch LCD touch screen for access to various functions and menus.
IXUS 1100HS is compatible with SD, SDHC, and SDXC and via mini-HDMI port.
IXUS 1100HS is a wellcrafted point-and-
Shoot the camera with a solid metal body.
Our equipment has a glossy black finish.
The time between turning on the camera and taking our first photo is less than 3 seconds, which means there's a good chance you won't miss the defining moment of IXUS 1100HS.
The menu system of the camera can be divided into three categories;
Settings, features, and menus.
In image shooting mode, the camera displays a series of shooting-related settings such as flash settings, exposure compensation settings, buttons to turn off the open state
The screen button, the button to access the function menu, and the button to start recording the video.
For those who may want to switch from taking a photo to taking a full HD video without wasting a second, the recording button is a very handy feature.
The features menu allows you to select various specific settings such as focus, white balance, ISO, etc.
IXUS 1100HS has a switch next to the power button that allows you to switch to auto mode, and the camera automatically detects the environment and selects photography mode accordingly.
This feature works quite well in our tests and we shoot indoors, in concert venues, in the playground and even in the middleday sun.
Most of the time, the camera is able to set up the correct settings and provide us with excellent images.
This is a very useful feature for those who are not very familiar with photography-related terms and settings.
IXUS 1100HS has two burst modes;
Regular and high speed that can be accessed through the shooting mode option.
In regular burst mode, just press and hold the shutter and the camera can shoot 3 frames per second. In high-
In Speed Burst mode, the camera can shoot 7 frames per second, but the resolution drops to 3 pixels.
12x optical zoom (
Extra 2x digital zoom)
Since the image stability function of canon is very good (IS)system.
What is worth mentioning here is the macro mode of the lens.
When zooming in all the way, the minimum focus distance of the lens is about 0.
4 inch however, when we zoom in all the time, our minimum focus distance increases dramatically and we cannot capture any macroslike (extreme close-up)shots.
Despite this disadvantage, the camera is always able to focus on the right part of the image and thus provide good
Exposed and vibrant images.
The screen on IXUS 1100HS is worth discussing.
In addition to being a control interface and a digital viewfinder, the screen can also be used as a shutter
Just tap the button to take a picture.
Even in direct sunlight, the screen is very clear and shows a colorful preview of the captured image.
To jump from one image to the next, just click on the left or right edge of the screen.
One thing we feel we have to point out is the responsiveness of the screen.
While modern tablets and phones have made us accustomed to responding to the screen with the slightest touch, the screen on Canon IXUS 1100HS requires a stronger touch to register the command.
Another concern we have with the touch screen is that when I switch between mode and settings, the touch screen makes us a little slower because we have to go through several menu pages to find the relevant parts.
This is where the dial and physical buttons come in handy.
The battery life of the camera is disappointing.
After a few minutes of HD video and about 70 photos, we found the camera showing a "low battery" symbol flashing.
IXUS 1100HS just ran out of a battery rated only 170 times under ideal conditions.
However, we use less in the real world, so we recommend buying one or two spare batteries to make sure you never run out of juice.
At the end of the day, all the things that have been said and done, the important thing is the image quality.
We tested the camera in several shooting conditions and found the results a bit confusing.
When shooting in the bright middle
The Sun during the day, the color taken by the camera is quite accurate, and the contrast and details are very good.
When shooting in the shade, the image quality is further improved (
Simulate cloudy days)
As the color becomes more vibrant and clearer.
Usually, the image quality is affected when you zoom in to the maximum range of the camera, but this is not the case with IXUS 1100HS.
Another aspect of image quality comes from using a flash.
Flash can be used to close-
Shooting up, shooting in middle distance (5-
10 feet from camera)
Or a lens with a long theme (
10 feet or more).
Photos taken using the Flash 10 feet m away from the camera are very balanced and no ambient light is over-powered by the flash.
However, when the subject is over 13 feet away, the flash is not strong enough to illuminate the scene well, causing the image to look a bit inadequateexposed. The back-
The lighting sensor works quite well and maintains a lower level of noise during shooting.
However, there are some visible signs that the camera will make noise
As a result, they lose some clarity, but can't be fixed by any common image editing software.
Overall, it feels good to be able to shoot at night, otherwise it's almost impossible at a regular point --and-shoot.
The camera also has the ability to shoot full HD video.
We tested the quality of the video and found that the video was smooth and clear, but if you are a high quality Nazi, you will notice the compressed artifacts in the video.
Mono microphones are ideal for shooting high quality videos of topics close to or out loud, but when the speaker is more than 15 feet away, acceptable audio cannot be recorded.
Canon IXUS 1100HS is definitely a complete
Full-bodied camera, live up to point-and-
The name of the shooting is quite good.
There is a price tag for Rs.
18,995, IXUS 1100HS found himself placed in the middle
Buyer level (See: ).
Higher prices than competitors can be attributed
The lighting sensor, which allows to take photos in very low light conditions without reducing the quality of the images.
While cameras within the same price range have a higher zoom range and larger pixels, IXUS 1100HS does claim to be the world's thinnest 12x optical zoom camera.
The goal of IXUS 1100HS is the kind of consumer who prioritizes the level of compact rather than the price without affecting the feature set.
