According to a new patent applied by Samsung, Samsung invented a fully wireless TV.
Telly will definitely not need wires to work and the patent will prevent other companies from accepting the idea.
Samsung explained in the supporting patent document that its device will be powered by an induction rod, which will serve as a base station for the TV to draw current.
The bar is designed to fit between the TV and the wall.
It will also act as a speaker, generating a magnetic field in any room placed on the TV.
Wireless charging devices are common, but the main difference from Samsung's potential creation is that there will be a gap between TV and charging devices.
Initially, the gap has to be quite small, but as technology advances, there will soon be a base station that will power all the devices in the room.
A few years ago, scientists at a branch of Walt Disney's research called Disney used a magnetic field to turn the entire room into a wireless charger.
Such progress may mean that the device will automatically start charging one day when a person walks into certain rooms.
While fully wireless TV is an exciting concept, it's not clear when or even if the device will be created.
Sometimes a company will quickly apply for a patent for a new idea, so that even if they are not ready to start working on it, or need to prioritize other developments, no other company can accept it.
