Many towns in Wishart and Saskatchewan are no different.
People move to big cities and communities like Wishartare to become ghost cities.
This is how Morris kalakochuk described it.
The suburbs of the Emerald City of Saydi are the development direction of the rural areas of the province.
Less than a decade ago, the population of Wishart was less than 100, and there are still about 65 people living there.
No service, no business, no railroad, no hospital, not even commonop store.
Karakochuk says you may not see a car coming down the street all day.
"Ghost City means there won't be much going on unless people try to make it happen. Said Reeve.
A person like this is 30-year-
Old Jason Nelson
Nelson and his business partner and best friend, Mitchell Faye, are doing what they can to revive Wishart by revitalizing the old Wishart school.
Nelson and Faye bought the school that closed a few years ago for $250,000.
For the past two years, they have been trying to return the building to the former state.
It is a labor of love for Nelson.
"The building has a lot of memories every square foot.
We all loved the space and it was a special place for us, so it feels great right now, it's a gift and an opportunity to get it back to what it was like before.
"But, getting it back to what it was before is not a problem with mopping and slapping a new paint.
The school was the target of vandalism, Nelson said, and most of the windows were broken.
The whole roof needs to be repaired, there is a leak everywhere, and the drywall has fallen off.
Although everyone else said the old school was too far away, they bought it, Nelson said.
Nelson will visualize the library and each class will be assigned a different style.
Most importantly, Nelson says they will respect the existing structure, although they have already invested $68,000.
He said that they bought the building without a real plan and admitted that the renovation of what they call a "project of desire" could take years to complete.
"I mean, what else can we do in our spare time, but to create amazing things for everyone.
Bring the heart back to this community.
The school is the center of Wishart, Nelson said.
It brings everyone in the community together and may do so again.
