Wayne Pruski, executive director of facilities, planning and development at SCUC, reviewed the details of the plan at the board meeting on July 24.
The area plans to use its balance of funds to cover the cost of the stadium renovation.
The project includes a new news box, an upgraded running track and a replacement scoreboard.
After the Clement and Steele high school football teams complete their family schedule, the renovations are expected to begin in November.
District officials say the renovation work should be completed by August 2015 before the start of the next football season.

Improvements to the runway include moving the high jump and pole vault pits to the back of the South End area.
The replacement scoreboard with the $263,500 price tag includes an LED message board, which is built at $60,000 by the Guadalupe Valley Power Co-op and Schertz bank.
