Due to the downturn in projector sales, Christie's Digital's kitchen operations have experienced layoffs.
Dave Paolini, media and public relations manager, confirmed on Friday that 25 manufacturing technicians had been fired.
The Wellington Street factory currently employs about 650 workers.
"Purchase of lights-
"In most parts of the world, projector-based speeds are slowing down, which does make a difference," said Paolini . ".
"We have adjusted the workforce according to the actual situation of the business.
"This marks the second time that production employees have been fired since Christie's acquired the former electric home projection system business in 1999.
On last August, 25 manufacturing technicians were fired.
Demand for some of its product lines has been blamed for falling.
Christie's Digital specializes in projection technology and digital display systems.
The company's manufacturing, engineering, marketing, finance and human resources are located in kidina.
There are 1,400 employees in more than a dozen locations around the world.
Paolini says Christie intends to "survive the storm ".
"We want to increase our business and adjust our workforce.
The company wants to recall some of our laid-off workers, he said. off workforce.
Paolini said: "Christie's has launched a new range of laser projectors for the film market and is expected to launch more models in the fall.
