How does it work?
The LED on the PCB lights up in a specific mode.
You can see the pattern when the motor rotates the circuit board-
This is an example of visual effect persistence.
Need a battery? Yes.
The kit comes with a lithium battery to power the SX, but you will need to provide 2 batteries to power the motor.
The wooden board is designed so that you can install it on other spinning things, such as bicycle wheels.
Can I put it on something other than the motor?
Yes, there are a set of holes at both ends of the board, passing through them with ropes or wires, and you can almost tie the board to anything.
I tied it to the bike and it looked cool.
What is the pattern?
You can see an example of the previous pattern.
Program in the video from the previous step.
Arrows, animations, and text characters are all possible.
Can you change the pattern? Yes.
You need an SX blitz programming key, otherwise it will be very simple.
The last step of this structure is linked to the source code you can modify.
A rotating LED display is designed with a micro-controller 1204.
This is a great project to learn how to weld.
There are a lot of great instructions on how to weld (one here)
Tools you need some tools to assemble the project; 1 -
Soldering iron and tin.
Lead Welding is easier to use, 15-
The 40-watt iron is fine.
Tapered or chiseled tip works well. 2 -Dykes.
Diagonal cutter is used to trim the excess lead of the Assembly after welding the assembly. 3 -Batteries.
You need 2 x AA batteries.
If this is your first electronics project, I suggest you start with a cheap soldering iron. Why?
Because you don't have to spend a lot of money to feel the feeling of doing electronic projects.
If you like yourself, then you can upgrade to a better device and give your 1st iron to other people who are just starting out.
Ioffer an Elenco kit with a 25-watt iron, stand, Wick and welded suction cups for $25 (pictured below).
You can also get a very good Weiler iron on Amazon with extra tips and welding (
But no wick and welding suction cups)for $15.
8 Same resistors (Brown -Red -
Brown, 120 ohm)go at R2 -R9.
Let's start by adding 2 of them to R8 and r9.
Fold the lead in a 90 degree angle, insert it into the pcb, flip it, weld it down and trim the excess lead.
Then we do the second set of resistors.
120 ohms (brown -red -brown)
In R5, R6 and r7.
Insert, flip, Weld and trim.
Once the first two lines enter, we will do the same for the last line (R2, R3, and R4).
The same resistance, 120 ohms (brown -red -brown).
The 10 k ohm resistor is on r1. It's brown -black -
Orange, as shown in the figure.
Let's add LED.
Note that the LED is polarized.
The longer the lead in the square hole (to the right).
Insert it into the section and fold it so that the LED goes through the edge of the PCB.
Weld down and trim the extra leads.
Do the same for the other 7 LEDs.
Make sure the polarity is correct-
Long leads always go through square holes.
After the LED is finished, let's continue to use the DIP socket.
Please note that the gap of the socket is closer to the 10 k ohm resistance (
Points left in the photo).
Flip the board and add a button cell stand.
This device is also polarized, please note how it is inserted into the photo and the "towel" side of the holder goes through the hole close to the LED.
This stand will hold one or two CR2016 cells, or one CR2032 cell.
SX is not picky, it will run under any configuration.
Go back to the top of the PCB, trim the excess lead from the button battery stand and put the SX into the DIP socket.
We're almost over.
The last step is to connect the motor.
In the photo below, you can see how I connected the motor.
I used a little extra thread (
From Resistance)
Make a loop and pass the motor spindle through the loop.
Upon completion, I used a healthy soldering device to weld the spindle to the PCB and loop.
The position to connect the motor is your choice.
If you connect it in the center, as in the photo, it will rotate quickly.
Connect it to the edge of the PCB to get a larger circle.
You don't need to connect the motor either-
You can use the holes on the pcb to tie it to almost any rotating device, such as the bicyle wheel. Last step -
Connect the AAbattery pack to the motor on the 2 tabs on the motor.
The battery pack has Leads in red and black, but it doesn't matter which leads are connected to which terminal.
Hope you like rotating LED display-
