The old projection system of the Indira Gandhi Science Complex Planetarium will soon be replaced by a countryof-the-
Art 2D/3D system.
Durgesh Tiwary, another director of the Planetarium, said the new projection system was only installed in Singapore, Macau and some other parts of the world.
It will be equipped with the latest technology of the 2D/3D active digital immersive projection system for a 16 m diameter Planetarium perforated aluminum dome.

Nitanad Prasad, director of the Planetarium, said: "The bidding process for the new projection system has been completed and will be installed this year --end.
The state government approved funding for the new system.
He added: "The existing projection system is also equipped with the latest technology at the time and is imported from Japan.
The government has given priority to changing this decision.
When asked about any changes to the fare, Tiwary said: "The cost of operation and maintenance will determine the fare.
But it's too early to say anything.
Nevertheless, it is a dream project for us.
Residents are also enthusiastic about the new projection system.
Ria Rajeev of Khajpura said, "I went to the planetarium several times as a child, but the same show was shown repeatedly.
Because it is said that the new projector will bring new programs, I am very excited about this.
Samiksha Mishra, another frequent visitor, said, "the 3D side will be very interesting.
