The increase in the number of periodic casualties in Surrey has led to a new security campaign.
Surrey County Council cabinet traffic spokesman John Furui said the number of cyclists killed or seriously injured has increased over the past 18 months.
According to the data, there were 124 incidents in 2012, compared with 50 in 2008.
He said 57 accidents were reported in the first five months of this year.
The county's smart driving campaign urges drivers and cyclists to respect each other.

The county is the preferred destination for large, organized bike activities, he said.
"Our message is not to compete, to share the road.
