The increase in the number of periodic casualties in Surrey has led to a new security campaign.
Surrey County Council cabinet traffic spokesman John Furui said the number of cyclists killed or seriously injured has increased over the past 18 months.
According to the data, there were 124 incidents in 2012, compared with 50 in 2008.
He said 57 accidents were reported in the first five months of this year.
The county's smart driving campaign urges drivers and cyclists to respect each other.

The county is the preferred destination for large, organized bike activities, he said.
"Our message is not to compete, to share the road.
"Be considerate of each other," said SUMT moon.
Andy Lindsay, who works at a bike shop in West Byfleet, welcomed the sport and said that both cyclists and drivers were responsible.
Edmund King, president of the AA, who is both a driver and a cyclist, also said: "There are very few people riding bicycles and there are very few people driving, they sometimes have a tribal mentality.
"What we need to do is break down some of the obstacles because most cyclists are drivers and many drivers are really cyclists.
He also said the infrastructure of the town could be improved, but it was "for respect" on rural roads ".
Mr. Furey, who is also chairman of the board of directors of Drive Smart, said: "The road is accessible to everyone, but everyone has to recognize that it is a public space, and if either side is not performing well, someone will be injured.
