Abstract objective: the purpose of this study was to reduce the number of improperly managed distal fractures by using templates.
Methods: to develop a template to help primary doctors and emergency nurses (ENPs)
Decide which distal fractures require surgical treatment.

The primary physician and ENPs were asked to check the X-ray film of 12 distal fractures with or without a template, and to comment on whether the fracture needs to be operated.
