The TouchPad works well with Max.
The following tutorial shows you how to set up the motherboard and gives a brief introduction to our basic Max Patch.

ComTo start you need: 1 x touchpad-
1 x computer running Max/MSP 7. 0 or later—
1 x internet connection (
But you are reading this so I think you must have one! )
Your TouchPad needs our data flow code to communicate with the Max patch.
The code in the data stream is our MPR121 instance Library.
Find it by navigating to the file/sample/MPR121/sample/data stream.
Make sure to select the correct motherboard and port before clicking upload.
If you do not set up the TouchPad using Arduino, make sure to complete our "set Arduino using TouchPad" tutorial first (
You can find it here).
Check that the Datastream you uploaded opens the serial port monitor normally (
Tool/serial Monitor)in Arduino.
You should see a value stream.
Uncheck auto scroll to pause the value and you will notice that there are duplicate value lines starting with touch, TTHS, RTHS, FDAT, and BVAL.
Don't worry about them now, this is the raw data Max is going to parse.
To download our TouchPad communication patch, click the link below and unzip it to a convenient location.
Our patch runs on Max 7. 0 or later.
If you haven't installed MaxMSP yet, you can find a link below. Max-MSP-Touch-Board-communication-public.
ZipMax/MSP software ensures that the TouchPad communication patch is off.
Insert your TouchPad and open the patch.
Your TouchPad should then appear in the drop-down menu.
By selecting it, you should see the numbers start changing immediately, and the slider object should become vivid.

The patch opens in demo mode, showing only a fraction of the data that the TouchPad is generating.

The MaxMSP works well with the TouchPad.
It's fun to connect physical devices to digital devices and have Max talk to Ableton Live, but most importantly, we haven't thought of something to do yet.
