A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
Last week was my last week with my students.
I finished my work a few days ago and I officially took part in the summer vacation!
My first year of teaching is over.
If my dog didn't program according to my teacher schedule, I would sleep more.
I need to train her again.
Still, my classroom is sitting in my restaurant because next year I teach at a different school and the students are much younger than this year.
So a disclaimer before reading: my first year of teaching was an eighth grade student who taught English language art at a title school.
It was a great experience, much harder than I thought.
There are some obstacles that I can't imagine, because I am stronger than when I went in.
Along the way, I learned a lot of tricks and came up with my own!
This is what I learned.
Tip 1: Don't listen to the students, this is the hardest thing to learn in the year.
Remember that students are children!
They are good at control and don't want to learn.
They would rather play on the computer than chat or flirt with new interests.
This is a good example for older children.
For me, I realized that the students like drama, especially among the teachers, they would lie directly to the other teacher and make them uneasy about the other teacher.
This is a game of thrones they are very good!
They know that teachers care about them, so if they don't like another teacher, they will cry and go to another teacher to get that kind of attention and get the teachers they don't like into trouble
You need to listen to the inconsistency and find out why they are telling you something.
Is it for attention?
For the well-
The existence of oneself or others?
Is it to keep them out of trouble?
Tip 2: Listen to more experienced teachers. I am very grateful for the advice I got along the way.
They provide tips that I put at the bottom of classroom management, organization, and time management.
These teachers are the best resources provided by the school, especially if the school does not have a lot of resources.
Listening to them also shows respect for their knowledge, expertise and time in this field.
You admit you want to grow. It is off-
When teachers move around, as they know everything, there is no need to grow.
Because education is developing with culture and technology, it is also ignorant.
Tip 3: BoundariesRed List: write down what you don't want anyone to know before you go in.
This list will be your "red" list.
These are the things you need to leave to yourself.
The "red" list is mainly for you and your friends.
This list may damage your reputation among students and employees.
Get to know your colleagues
Staff before sharing this list, but this list is definitely not available for students.
Facebook and social media are also on the list.
You may think that pictures or posts can be shared with the world, but as a teacher, your students and their parents are also trying to figure out if you are the best person to teach.
The teacher should be a saint.
Not realistic, yes, but always keep something in mind when putting an "f" bomb on social media.
Yellow List: Now write down the topic you are not comfortable talking about.
It will be religion, boyfriend, girlfriend, politics, etc.
Some topics are inevitable or will be asked. "Ms.
Do you love Jesus? " "Ms.
Gay people are going to hell.
I wanted to help him.
"It was very uncomfortable for me to insert, losing language and a little bit of anger.
These are the red lists worth it, but they are on the yellow list because you need to come back!
You can't ignore it.
Do I love Jesus?
View other articles.
I usually refute the problem with a question.
"Do you love Jesus, boy? ""Of course! ""Awesome!
Have a good day.
"Kid 2, you need to talk to the consultant.
"Religious bullying is always my email to the consultant, especially to the very pious one!
Tip 3 1/2: If you don't know, you can consult the counselor.
This should be the longest list.
You need poison.
You need stories that connect you to your students!
You also need to know what experts the students are because they like to teach you!
They always like to explain fidgety spins and new fashions.
Play silly even if you know!
"This class is on fire!
Child 3. take the light.
Apparently, the students want the lights on in PowerPoint. " Corny, yes.
Not really effective.
Absolutely lovely moment!
These boundaries help students.
They need to know you, but they also need to remember that you are a teacher.
You're not their friend.
That's why I play silly, even though I'm a million times more "cool" than all the people add up.
But I know their conditions and fashion.
I use their jargon, but if I use it in the conversation, the students say "No, madamKeeley.
No more.
"When I heard this, I knew that I was treated as a teacher! Best day ever!
You don't want to be "cool ".
"You don't want to be liked.
You want to be respected
List what you need to report!
I always remind students of what I have to report before they talk to me.
It reminds them that I am a teacher but I do care about them.
Unless there are other teachers on the list that teach the same students to need to know, I never repeat what they tell me.
I am more careful about telling other teachers because not all teachers are the same.
This trust helped me to get information about the fights and the drama as well as my seating table.
Trick 1: Get My gauge from online gauge manufacturer with RubricI rating.
They are simple and quick.
Printing restrictions are inevitable and students will lose a lot of what you print.
When I had a computer, I went through the title with them online and they had a digital copy for reference.
But by the time I scored, I printed a title.
I put this title in a page protector and rate it with an Expo mark.
I just checked this box as I continued to calculate the score.
Enter a score or write a score on the student program with notes and delete the expo on the page protector.
I did a poetry project and I got a score because there was no title.
One class did a good job of handing them in, but the other two classes were not very good.
When I finished all the work with rubrics, I found that the second batch of products went faster at the expo.
Trick 2: Don't re-invent the wheel in the course plan!
There are classes in every school.
This course is most likely to be used in other countries and regions, especially those with a common core.
Teachers.
Com is also useful, but I use their free stuff if you are like me.
I never bought anything from them.
Pinterest is also quite good.
Google is your best friend!
There are unit plans and teacher blogs everywhere to help other teachers.
The teachers are very friendly and want to help!
Many schools use Google classrooms and other websites to include technology in classrooms. 1. Kahoot.
Students like Kahoot.
I think music is going to brainwash them. 2.
This website was recently discovered.
It works on interactive whiteboards of any type.
There are other types of interactive whiteboards besides Smart!
I know I'm confused when I try to figure out Promethean.
This site is great as it is universal for any board.
If you leave school or the school does not use the program, then you have this website for interactive lectures and board activities. 3.
ReadWorks: ReadWorks has graded printable readings, but they also have a digital component.
It scores you. 4.
NewsELA: students basically read newspapers online and answer four questions according to Common Core standards.
There are free ones, but the presentation will spoil you as you see their grades and the criteria they need help.
It will also tell you the time they read the article and how much they have commented on it, rather than you reading each computer score with the clipboard. 5.
I like this website when I give lectures.
Students can control the presentation on their side, or they can control it.
You can play the video on your screen, but after it's done, you can play the video on their screen and ask follow-up questions.
The best part is the counter at the bottom.
If it turns red
Orange, a student left their screen (
May turn to the game).
The third trick: trail in Oregon taught me during my internship. Not on purpose.
It was not until the end of the first year that I found out how much these children used computers.
I did "if I can't hear it then you can listen to music with headphones.
"It was because I heard bad lyrics, but I also realized that I couldn't hear the game music or even accidentally.
To make matters worse, there are mixed songs for game music on YouTube, so I never knew if it was a game or YouTube.
My students like to upset me and make me feel like they are playing games while they are away.
Oregon Trail anyway.
My CT used to play this game with his class and they all liked it.
I thought the kids at that school I was going to wouldn't take the game. I was so wrong.
I did a game the next day after the benchmark and I didn't want to play a game that got me involved, so I played the Oregon Trail.
The children are playing their game, but when they see a classmate die of diarrhea, they all want to play now.
This game can be defended.
It shows the children the map.
They need the skills to make decisions.
The math of how much they need to buy and how much food they need.
It has so many moments of critical thinking and teaches them history.
They can also kill people intentionally or accidentally.
If they survive, they have the right to brag because I have never won in class.
There are always people who use drama to distract me.
To be naive, you need to be naive.
This is the only way to learn.
You will make many mistakes and learn from them.
That's why you need to have a close relationship with your teammates and other teachers.
They are your support system with angry parents, colleagues, students and administration.
You all need to work together to survive.
When you first arrive at school, you will bring something that the school may need.
You can bring a club that can motivate students, or have students stay a little longer before coming home.
Making mistakes will make students understand that you are not perfect and you do not expect perfection.
This will help ease this anxiety and make the classroom a safe place for all.
You will learn more when you need to fix it.
It's one thing to know mentally how to solve a hypothetical situation, but when it happens, you need to know how you will react.
Fight or escape?
Stick to your beliefs, stick to why you go to education, write down why you are there, and remind yourself every day why you choose to be a teacher.
You are for the students.
To survive, you make money there.
This may not be the most important thing, but you also need to remember to take care of yourself.
When you make a decision for yourself, people judge you because the teacher is considered to be doing it for the student.
Do it for yourself.
Please ask for help if you are in a bad situation.
Please ask for help if teaching is not for you.
Teaching is not easy and not appreciated.
At the end of the day, I always go home and think about what I can do to make it better.
Along the way, I no longer call myself "not a real teacher", but "I am a teacher ".
"As far as identity is concerned, this is the time when everything is better.
I will continue to work on classroom management next year.
