Last week, an amendment was approved for coverage of urban signage zoning for major commercial developments.
The coverage area is suitable for development projects with at least 1 million square feet of commercial or retail space, currently covering only the US and Galeria.
The amendment requires that any developer who uses a digital logo must receive revenue --

According to Antonio Castillo, four digital billboards can be seen on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, but there is no such agreement because the signs are the planners of West Hollywood under the city's public art regulations.
The Los Angeles City Planning Department did not respond to requests for comment.
Glendale's amendment is slightly different from the version originally proposed last month, and some languages have changed, allowing the United States to complete the construction of the new Nordstrom department store before the development agreement is finalized.
The zoning amendment also allows the use of new types of signs, such as banners, tent signs and signs, in public right of way, which will be used to present directions and guidelines for pedestrians.
The amendment will also allow for the first time to promote non-merchant signs within the hotel, such as promotions for Las Vegas hotels.
Johnny Harrison of Glendale Lexus said in a parliamentary vote last Tuesday that while his dealers support digital signage, he believes they should only be allowed to advertise in the city.
"It is very important to have signs of advertising for businesses in Glendale," he said . ".
"People who do business in Glendale generate more taxes.
Several residents of Glendale came forward against the proposed amendment.
Margaret Hammond told the commission that allowing the digital logo would change the character of the city.
"Look at the American signs and I think they can go beyond Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard," she said . ".
"I really feel like we're sold out and have Glendale Post all these huge logos, some of which are not connected to our event in Glendale or anything else. ”--
