wacom intuos 4 drawing tablet review - wacom

Although I have never done a drawing tablet review before, I feel obligated to do so once I actually use Wacom Intuos 4 for the first time.
For graphic artists who don't use digital painting tablets, before you can rest assured, many of your peers are using tablets to mimic the feel of pencils and paper on their computers
These devices are usually equipped with a computer mouse, pen and an actual drawing tablet.
The pen is the most commonly used by most people to find themselves because it is sensitive to stress and tries to imitate the actual experience of painting (
Aka pressing more will give you a darker line).
Although there are few companies competing in this area, there is a company that clearly has become a leader among professionals.
Wacom is a well-known company in the world, producing top-level line drawing tablets, which are often referred to as industry standards by artists, architects, photographers and cartoonists, graphic designers and anyone who likes to create things on a computer.
You can't really understand how valuable they are until you actually use it.
Comments on Wacom tablets this article will focus on the Wacom Intuos 4 medium-sized drawing tablet (
Project model PTK640)
Sold to professional digital artists who like to use tablets that feel the same as drawing on paper.
Because of this, they have the highest specifications for any other Wacom device.
The size of the drawing tablet is 10x14. 6 x 0.
5 inch, come in at about 2. 2 pounds.
It does take up some of the space on your desk, but many people ease the problem by putting a drawing tablet in a circle to draw a picture.
Pros: The pen pressure sensitivity now has 2048 levels, which means it can even capture the lightest touch.
This really works (for me)
When I use it to add shadows for photos or artwork.
You can even move the pen, touch the eraser, like on a pencil.
The pressure sensitivity of this eraser is the same as the pen.
The natural feeling of the pen actually reduces the pressure on the hands and wrists.
Anyone who uses the mouse will eventually begin to feel the effects of this stress.
It may take a while to use this pen, but once you use it, you will™I will use it more and you may notice that these wrist pains have just begun to disappear.
I like the fact that the drawing tablet comes with the mouse.
I rarely use it, but when I do need it, it is™Glad to have (
And it's cordless. .
The drawing tablet has several touchpads that can be used to set up your own custom shortcuts.
The settings will be changed in the lighting display area next to the pad.
Due to the lighting display, the drawing tablet is flipped and can be easily set up for the right or left hand.
I will™I also noticed that since all the touchpads are on the same side of the drawing tablet, I can draw with one hand and work the touchpad with the other.
This tablet also comes with finger-sensitive touch rings that allow you to scroll, zoom, resize your brush, and more.
The central button allows you to choose between the four features.
I did not™I didn't think much when I got the tablet, but I found myself using it a lot now.
Each switch on the drawing tablet and pen can be customized according to the drawing software you use.
The pen holder has a distorted storage area with additional pen tip and pen tip removal tools.
These nibs are easy to lose and easy to own in one area.
If you decide to get Wacom Intuos 4, you can also download some titles that can be enhanced by using a tablet.
I think I chose the sketchbook of the Corel Painter.
Widescreen format.
The value of the Wacom drawing tablet is usually quite high, so you should be able to get the right price if you need to sell the tablet.
Cons: There is a rubber handle on the pen which makes it feel great but also attracts dust (
I think it's a little trouble).
There is also a rocking button on this pen, which is a bit awkward to use.
I will. ™I just like the regular button.
The surface of the tablet is more rough on the Intuos 4 than on the Intuos 3.
This makes the experience of the pen on paper more tight, but it also causes the tip to wear faster.
If you continue to use worn-out pen tips, you will end up scratching the surface of your digital tablet.
The extra nibs is about $1.
This is one area I hope they haven't changed, but I remember someone saying that the Intuos 3 is too smooth.
I have never cared about the surface of this slide.
I hope Wacom will let you choose the type of surface sheet you want.
I seriously thought about switching to a small version because even a medium version does take up quite a bit of space.
The only difference (besides size)
This will be a small drawing tablet with no OLED display.
Finally, even though I decided to keep what I ordered, the smaller version would be better for me.
I already have driver software on my drawing tablet, but when I update the software through the Wacom website, I have a problem.
There are errors between the Wacom software and Vista software and I have to fix them every time I restart my computer.
I ended up just reinstalling the version that came with my drawing tablet without any problems.
Wacom may have fixed these issues as it has been more than a year since I did so.
I will™I just haven't found a reason to update the driver software yet.
The price above is about $349, but the price will be lower depending on where you buy it. (
Note: the small upper range is about $229. )
Some sort of suitcase will be very helpful to protect everything when traveling.
Last thought: Overall I am very happy with my purchase of Wacom Intuos 4 drawing tablet and I hope what I said in the comments will help you make an informed decision.
I will™I 've had it for a while and while I haven't used it all the time, it's often used.
The main reason I bought this device is pen sensitivity technology, and Wacom is very good at it in this field;
There is no problem recommending this product to someone. It’s a buy.
