whitelee wind farm joins major tourist attractions body - interactive displays for business

A wind farm near Glasgow has become Scotland's first wind energy project to join major tourist attractions.
The manager of Whitelee visitor center in Whitlesham has agreed to become a member of the Scottish tourist attractions Association (ASVA).
They made the decision after Europe's largest onshore wind farm recorded nearly 250,000 tourists since 2009.
The center is operated by Scottish Renewable Energy Corporation and Glasgow Science Center.
While US tycoon Donald Trump recently claimed that the development of a wind farm would kill tourism in Scotland, the move happened.
The 2 m visitor center in Whitelee includes interactive displays and exhibitions, as well as a learning center composed of Glasgow Science Center personnel.
The Scottish electric renewable energy company says nearly 10,000 students have visited Whitley at school so far.
The company said that in addition to the central visit, at least 100,000 people visited 90 km people in the wind farm (56 miles)
Trail for leisure purposes such as jogging and cycling.
John Alexander, project director, said: "As a full member of ASVA, The Baili wind farm will join the top tourist attractions in Scotland and we are very happy.
"People have shown such a strong interest in the wind farm, which is great, and it has exceeded all our expectations.
"One of our key priorities when building a wind farm is to make sure it's accessible and people can enjoy interacting with it.
Tourism minister Fergus Ewing said he welcomed the decision to join ASVA.
"Whitelee is creating new opportunities for a variety of outdoor leisure activities in southern Glasgow, through improved access, a popular visitor center and close ties with the education sector," he commented . "
In April, a survey commissioned by the Scottish tourism bureau showed that visitors to Scotland did not think the wind farm was a problem.
The agency reported that about 80% of respondents said the wind farm would not affect their decision on where to go for a holiday.
