The story Dragon Palace Hotel has long been a stain on Pyongyang's skyline.
Since 1987, the world's tallest uninhabited building has been standing above the North Korean capital, and the magnificent but empty pyramid is completely dark except for the only aircraft warning light on the top.
Outsiders see the unfinished building as a microcosm of failure, which is rarely mentioned by domestic people.
That is to say, until the lighting designer Kim Yong day once again makes the building a hot topic in the city.
In the wonderful pages of the script, the Dragon Palace was reborn as a symbol of pride and North Korea's intelligence.
Every night for a few hours, the buildings without electricity became the backdrop of a massive light show in which more than 100,000 LEDs flashed images of famous statues and monuments, the symbol and political slogan of the party.
The Dragon Palace has not yet been completed.
There is no public date when or if it will host the elusive first guest.
Is there any doubt about glass? and-
The structure of the concrete hotel is reasonable.
And North Korea's electricity supply is limited.
But it doesn't matter.
"I'm really proud," deputy Kim.
The department director of the South Korean lighting and decoration center recently told The Associated Press in an interview at the foot of the hotel.
"I made this magnificent design for this huge building and it makes people feel good when they see it.
I am very proud to be a designer.
On April, the exhibition was first lit to celebrate the birthday of the national "eternal president" Kim Il Sung.
Designer Kim says it will take about five months to get ready.
He was responsible for the design and programming of the light display and spent two months.

The Longgong Tower, 330 metres, has three different sides.
The main display is on the front, while the simpler design illuminates the other two.
For a cone-shaped part at the top, gold creates images of red, white and blue Korean flags waving in the wind.

The lights are connected to a computer control system about the size of the DVD player.
"The whole program can be stored on the SD card and put into the controller," Kim said . ".
"We can make a diagnosis on our laptop.
"The Dragon Palace is a big part of the second legacy.
A generation of leader Kim Jong Il, the late father of current leader Kim Jong Un.
He ordered it to be built as part of Pyongyang's preparations for the 13 th world youth and student festival hosted in 1989, a contrast to the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
The Dragon Palace is supposed to be the highest hotel in the world, surpassing another hotel built by Korean companies in Singapore, but due to North Korea's severe economic collapse and famine in 1990 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the building was put on hold.
It was not until Egypt's Orascom Group, which established the North Korean mobile phone system, helped fund the completion of its glass-like look in 2011 that it was in trouble.
Like his father, Kim is keen on ambitious construction projects, including 82-storey and 70-
The multi-storey house in the capital "Ryomyong" or "Dawn" district opened last year and a huge tech complex with the main building shaped like a giant atom.
"The purpose of setting up this light curtain is to give our people confidence and hope for the future," said designer Kim, as he watched people go out of fashion in his huge display, he said.
"The reaction was very good.
The flag at the top of the building is as high as hundreds of meters, which everyone can see.
This gives them pride and confidence in being a citizen who is willing to work very hard.
He refused to guess when the hotel was open.
"That's not my field," he said with a smile . "
But while the update may be in progress, there is no plan to turn off the Dragon Palace light show, he said.
"We can change the content," he said . "
"The demands and aspirations of the people and the times have changed, so we can change the procedures to reflect this. " -
