The first thing: Xolo's attention to playing Tegra is not a pure Xolo product.
Xolo itself is not involved in designing and configuring it.
Tegra Note was created by Nvidia as a reference platform to demonstrate the power of its Tegra 4 ARM processor.
Although it is Nvidia's fourth-generation mobile Silicon, no manufacturer has announced any plans to use it for any current or future device.
Nvidia changed its strategy and decided to create its own consumer product, with idle inventory and no customers visible.
As a result, Tegra Note and Shield handheld consoles were born.
Shield is a Nvidia branded product that the company sells itself, but Tegra Note is treated slightly differently.
Just like Nvidia creates a reference graphics card based on its graphics processor and allows all partners to simply copy and put their own stickers on it, multiple brands around the world have been licensed for Tegra Note design.
In the exact same way, these companies, including Xolo, are primarily responsible for sales and distribution through their own brands on the box, with few other customizations.
So Xolo Play Tegra Note has introduced Nvidia products specific to the color and typography on the box.
Elsewhere in the world, you will find tablets that are exactly the same as Zotac or EVGA products.
This is not a bad thing because the tablet itself is not only powerful, but also worth the money.
When we took the Tegra Note out of the box, the first thing that struck us was the weight of it.
It weighs 320g, much heavier than the latest Nexus 7 and is almost as heavy as the iPad mini.
You will definitely feel it in your hands, especially if you stay in the game or reading position for a long time.
The body is made of plastic with rubber handles on the side and back.
The front of the tablet is completely blank and symmetrical, except for a small point on the front --facing camera.
When picking it up, it's not easy to know which way to hold it.
On both sides of the screen are two wide speaker grilles without any capacitive buttons or logos.
The body has two rubber pads for grip, which also puts a heavy burden on Tegra Noteduty look.
We don't have any complaints about the construction quality of Tegra Note, although its body will bend a little if you put pressure on it.
At the edge you will find a lot of buttons and ports: MicroUSB, Micro-

Nvidia has designed stylus input for this tablet.
The one it comes with is thinner than usual and has a unique chiselshaped tip.
When you slide it out of the silo in the bottom right, a prompt appears on the screen asking if you want to open two pre-loaded stylus-Write or Tegra Drawoptimised apps.
If you wish, you can add your own shortcuts to the launcher prompt.
The screen is the biggest disappointment.
For a device developed by a graphics company to promote handheld games, the screen is actually very bad.
1280x800 is not high resolution by today's standards;
The most obvious device compared to this is the 2013 Nexus 7, which is equipped with an amazing 1920x101-pixel screen.
The color is not so popular, and the angle of view is not as wide as we think.
Another strange thing is that at some angles, whether it's on or off, you can see a thin set of horizontal bands running on the screen.
We can't be sure if this is part of the stylus digitizer or is it just a quirk in manufacturing that doesn't interfere with watching movies or reading with a tablet that keeps the arm length.
There are a lot of moves only when playing the game, they sometimes attract our attention and feel distracted.
Tegra 4It is actually about the processor here.
Everything about Tegra Note is designed to show its potential, although corners have been cut to ensure low prices.
Tegra 4 is designed for tablets and is much more powerful than the processors of competing companies that are trying to fit into smartphones.
It has a few neat tricks on its sleeves, such as the fifth low
The power supply "companion core" is activated, allowing the four main cores to go to sleep and consume less energy.
Although the four main cores are based on ARM Cortex A15 logic, the supporting cores are based on the lowerspec Cortex A9.
Tegra 4 is quite powerful on paper.

Its graphic lineage is more obvious in the list of supported features:
Real shadows, HDR lighting
Time Physics, cloth simulation, and particle effects.
Another buzzword on the spec sheet is "computational photography Architecture ".

This is a pretty disappointing area: Tegra Note runs Android 4. 2.

3 has been released but our test unit is not connected.
Even if it's not the latest and greatest version, we 'd like to know if Nvidia has a timeline for delivering updates and the time it's committed to doing so.
Tegra Note is still very useful, though.
The main annoyance is that Nvidia chose the soft button on the screen, not the capacitor or physical button on the surface of the device.
This takes up a lot of screen space.
When playing full screen, there is a black wasted space band at the bottom of the screen with only three faded gray dots in the middle that can guide you where to click.
Nvidia offers Tegra Zone applications to easily manage all games and utilities that showcase Tegra's powerful capabilities.
We have found many different types of titles to give us an insight. The two stylus-
Tegra Draw and Write are also pre-installed for applications.
Neither of these is particularly easy to use.
Tegra Draw's interface knows nothing about the various tools available, and we have found through trial and error that the stylus is very sensitive to pressure.
There is also a potentially useful annotation tool that allows you to draw a selection in any part of the screen of any application and copy it to Tegra draw, but again, there is no direction in how to use it.
To take advantage of the above imaging features of the Tegra processor, Nvidia has replaced the default camera app with an app called "Camera Awesome.

The lens of Tegra Note is very close to the edge of the device, so you need to be careful to hold it while shooting, otherwise you will end up blocking half of the lens with your fingers. (

The game should be bread and butter for Tegra Note.
We have found a variety of titles to test this theory.
The most striking is the first Dead Trigger 2.
In all kinds of scenic places, you have to dodge and kill the zombie shooting game.

The game is visually appealing, and we noticed some effects, such as the light emitted by lens flare, flame and smoke particles as they float in the air.

The games we see on portable devices.
The game is fun to play and never feels like it's just a graphic display.
Another game we tried was Eden to Green, a strange free value-added strategy game like a plant vs Zombies
The user will receive a lot of information throughout the process.
It does look like there is a lot of graphic processing going on, but the visuals are cartoon and the game itself is not very interesting.
Other games highlighted in the Tegra Zone app include FIFA 14, GTA San Andreas, caves, real boxing, Death on arrival 2, Hong Kong star Vegas and Zombie Tycoon 2.
It doesn't seem like there's a shortage of titles that take advantage of Nvidia hardware.
Nvidia also noted that Tegra Note is compatible with a variety of third parties
Party game controller
The tablet sends a full HD video to your TV and you can even use it as a game console.
We also have to mention Tegra Note's speakers in particular: in every game we throw it, the sound is loud.
This is not the best sound quality, which has become more obvious in our FLAC and MP3 music tests, but it is enough for immersive games.
The performance has been smooth without stuttering.
Load time is still important.
After all, these are quite heavy games.
We also noticed that there were some warm builds during our game.
HD video plays flawlessly, except for some human processing done on our heaviest av coronary heart disease sample clip.
Tegra Note has also achieved impressive results in our benchmark test suite.
Gfxtron scored 32 fps, and The Ice Storm Unlimited test for 3d mark scored 14,961 points.
Both points are a good sign for games and general performance, and even in the future, with the release of new games, this further drives this hardware.
In terms of overall performance, we see the scoring advantage of today's most powerful smartphones based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors.
The overall score in the quadrant was 15,788, and the SunSpider JavaScript test was completed at only 547.
A year ago, Tegra Note would be an extraordinary tablet.
It's still impressive by today's standards, but there are a couple of shortcomings that might deter people.
The screen is not the same as other devices on the market, but even worse, it doesn't have any fairness to Tegra 4's functionality.
The stylus is a good touch, but its utility depends entirely on the app.
Thankfully, Xolo launched the Tegra Note in India, priced at Rs. 17,999.
Nexus 7, its main competitor (2013)
Starting at RS 20,999.
Within the same price range
The Retina iPad mini is available for Rs sales. 21,900.
Between the two Android options, each has its relative strengths and weaknesses: the CPU of the Nexus is slightly weaker, there is no scalable storage space, but its screen quality is much higher.
You just have to decide what trade-offs you want to make.
